What book is Season 3 based on?
Season 3 is based on The Titan’s Curse, the third novel in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. The book follows Percy after Grover sends an urgent distress call. Percy and his allies encounter two powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown, while the goddess Artemis disappears and an ancient threat places the heroes in danger.
The story also brings the Hunters of Artemis into the center of the adventure and expands the danger surrounding the Titan Kronos. An ancient monster, a major prophecy, and the search for Artemis give the book a larger quest structure than a simple continuation of Percy’s life at camp.
“Based on” is the important wording here. Disney has confirmed the source novel and its broad premise, but that does not mean the television season will reproduce every scene, character beat, or plot turn exactly as it appears in the book. Any detailed prediction about changes should be treated as speculation unless Disney confirms it.

What is the Season 3 story?
Spoiler-light book premise: Grover’s distress call brings Percy into contact with two new half-bloods. At the same time, Artemis goes missing, and Percy joins the effort to find her. The search draws in Artemis’s Hunters, a powerful monster threat, and the wider conflict involving Kronos.
Those elements come from The Titan’s Curse and are safe to use as the adaptation’s confirmed narrative foundation. They should not be mistaken for a complete official television synopsis. Disney has not released a full scene-by-scene account of the season, and some book events may be rearranged or changed for the series.

Book spoilers beyond this point
The novel’s central setup involves Percy responding to Grover, the discovery of Bianca and Nico di Angelo, Artemis’s disappearance, and a dangerous mission shaped by prophecy. The Hunters of Artemis become especially important to the quest, while Kronos’s larger campaign continues to cast a shadow over the heroes.
Readers who want to remain completely unspoiled for the television adaptation should stop at this point and watch the season before revisiting detailed plot summaries of the book.
Who is in the Percy Jackson Season 3 cast?
Disney’s July 2026 San Diego Comic-Con announcement connected the following performers with Season 3:
| Actor | Character | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Walker Scobell | Percy Jackson | Returning lead |
| Aryan Simhadri | Grover Underwood | Returning cast member |
| Charlie Bushnell | Luke Castellan | Named in Disney’s Season 3 announcement |
| Tamara Smart | Thalia Grace | Named in Disney’s Season 3 announcement |
| Levi Chrisopulos | Nico di Angelo | Season 3 addition |
| Olive Abercrombie | Bianca di Angelo | Season 3 addition |
Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie were also identified in Disney’s earlier Season 3 casting announcement as the actors playing Nico and Bianca. Their introduction is consistent with the central setup of The Titan’s Curse.
What about Annabeth Chase?
Leah Sava Jeffries’ name was not included in the six-person cast list quoted in Disney’s July 2026 Comic-Con announcement. That omission does not establish that Annabeth is absent from Season 3. The announcement presented panel participants and selected featured cast, not necessarily a complete cast list.
It is safer to describe Annabeth’s status as not fully clarified by that particular announcement than to claim that the character has been removed from the season.

Other reported cast names
Entertainment coverage connected with the Season 3 teaser and promotional rollout has also reported names including Dafne Keen, Kate McKinnon, David Costabile, Ming-Na Wen, Jennifer Beals, and Hubert Smielecki. Unless Disney publishes an official cast list identifying their characters, these names should be treated as secondary-reporting information rather than a fully confirmed list of roles.
Is Percy Jackson Season 3 in production?
Disney said in January 2026 that Season 3 was in production in Vancouver. That announcement also confirmed that the season would adapt The Titan’s Curse and arrive later in 2026.
By July, Disney was promoting the season through a San Diego Comic-Con panel, exclusive footage, and the November 20 premiere-date announcement. This shows that production had advanced far enough for an active marketing campaign. It does not, by itself, prove that every episode had completed post-production at that time.
Is there a Percy Jackson Season 3 trailer?
Disney presented exclusive Season 3 material at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026. Coverage described the material as a teaser or first look rather than a conventional full-length trailer.
The most accurate description for now is that fans have received official first-look or teaser material. A complete Season 3 trailer and detailed episode previews should not be treated as confirmed unless Disney releases an asset specifically identified as a trailer.
This distinction matters because short promotional footage can establish the season’s tone, characters, or broad direction without revealing a full trailer’s worth of plot information.

How Season 3 connects to the larger Percy Jackson story
The Titan’s Curse is an important transition point in the novels. Percy’s world expands beyond the familiar camp-centered conflicts, and the search for Artemis introduces new alliances, new half-blood characters, and a more direct connection between the immediate quest and the looming threat of Kronos.
For television viewers, Season 3 should therefore be approached as both a self-contained quest and a continuation of the larger mythology established in the first two seasons. The confirmed material points toward:
- Grover’s distress call as a catalyst for the adventure;
- the arrival of Bianca and Nico di Angelo;
- Artemis’s disappearance and the search to find her;
- the growing importance of the Hunters of Artemis;
- a major ancient-monster threat; and
- the continuing danger posed by Kronos and the Titan conflict.
These are source-novel expectations, not a guarantee that every listed element will receive identical screen time or be presented in the same order.
How to prepare for the premiere
- Revisit the first two seasons. This is the simplest way to refresh the show’s version of Percy, Grover, the gods, the camp, and the ongoing conflict.
- Read The Titan’s Curse if you want the literary foundation. It is the novel Season 3 is adapting, but remember that book knowledge may reveal developments before the show does.
- Catch up on Books 1–3 if you are new to the franchise. The Disney+ tie-in boxed set listed by Disney Books is scheduled for November 10, 2026, shortly before the television premiere.
- Use Disney’s official updates for schedule information. The premiere date is confirmed, but the episode count and complete weekly rollout have not been confirmed in the current research.
- Label predictions as predictions. Cast rumors, unconfirmed character identities, trailer interpretations, and assumptions about adaptation changes should not be presented as official facts.

Where will Season 3 stream?
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 is scheduled for Disney+. As of August 12, 2026, it is not available to stream, and no physical Season 3 release should be inferred from the announcement of the Books 1–3 tie-in boxed set.
