Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying married Mark Manio on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, California. The couple chose a seaside ceremony to reflect their shared love of the beach and ocean, with handwritten vows, music by friends and personal songs marking the occasion.

Hoying and Manio married after six years together at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. The PEOPLE-sourced account described the gathering as an intimate, star-studded black-tie ceremony. The couple exchanged handwritten vows beneath a baby’s-breath arch, surrounded by all-white flowers. ABC Audio’s July 9, 2023, syndication of the report gives the wedding date as Friday, July 7.
Hoying explained the choice of setting in an interview with The Advocate: “Mark and I both have a deep love for the beach and the ocean and some of our favorite, romantic, lifelong memories together are by the beach.”
Who officiated, and what music did they choose?
The ceremony
Friend Christina Perri officiated. Kina Grannis performed Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as the couple walked down the aisle. Hoying and Manio described it as their favorite love song and connected it to a favorite scene from the 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians. ABC Audio also reported a mirrored aisle and matching off-white tuxedos; The Advocate described the suits as all-white.

The reception
Hoying performed “Four,” a song he wrote for Manio after their engagement. He said in the PEOPLE-sourced account: “The song is one of my favorite songs I have ever written, as it is a love letter I dedicated to Mark after we had dated for four years, and I can barely sing it without crying.” At the time ABC Audio published its account, the song was slated to appear on Hoying’s Parallel EP, then scheduled for July 28, 2023.
Loren Allred, who sang on The Greatest Showman soundtrack, performed “Never Enough” for the couple’s first dance, according to ABC Audio.

Hoying on marrying Manio
Reflecting on their relationship, Hoying told The Advocate: “I knew pretty early on that [he] was my dream man and I genuinely feel like the luckiest man on earth to get to marry him.” He also spoke about what marriage can mean to queer people: “I think we, like so many queer people growing up, wonder if they’ll ever even come out, and if they’ll ever find love, and for some of us, if gay marriage would ever be legal.”
