Peacock is repositioning itself as more than a catalog of shows and films. In its March 13, 2026 announcement, NBCUniversal described three connected initiatives: personalized Bravo video in “Your Bravoverse,” a planned vertical NBA livestream, and mobile games built around NBCUniversal franchises. The strategy is to keep viewers watching, swiping and playing inside one app. The announcement establishes products and planned rollouts—not universal availability for every user or device.
What Peacock announced
NBCUniversal’s announcement grouped the expansion into three products. The company’s March 13 announcement says Peacock is combining AI-assisted discovery, mobile-native sports viewing and lightweight games with human editorial oversight.

Your Bravoverse is a personalized Bravo layer
Your Bravoverse is not a new conventional series. It is a discovery and recap system assembled from Peacock’s Bravo library. Users choose favorite shows or moments, and the service creates playlists that connect scenes across franchises and seasons.
How the system is supposed to work
- Computer vision identifies clips and story elements in the catalog.
- AI agents connect relationships and interests that matter to Bravo viewers.
- The service sequences clips into personalized playlists.
- An Andy Cohen digital avatar introduces or guides the experience.
- Editors validate AI output and vet playlists before presentation, according to NBCUniversal.
NBCUniversal says the system draws on more than 5,000 hours of Bravo footage and can produce more than 600 billion possible viewing variants. That number is a theoretical combination count, not 600 billion separately produced programs. The novelty is selection, sequencing and narration of existing footage.

The avatar is not a live video call with Cohen. NBCUniversal says it was created with Synthesia technology from footage recorded in a Synthesia studio, in collaboration with Cohen. That distinguishes it from an unauthorized celebrity deepfake, but it does not settle every question about disclosure, consent or synthetic-media policy.
What AI is—and is not—doing
Peacock’s announcement describes several different uses of AI, each with different risks:
- Catalog analysis: finding visual and narrative elements in existing footage.
- Playlist assembly: linking clips and constructing personalized viewing paths.
- Synthetic presentation: generating the avatar’s delivery from recorded material.
- Video reframing: selecting a live-sports crop in real time.
- Game mechanics: Wolf Games’ generative-AI engine is cited for Law & Order: Clue Hunter.
NBCUniversal has not disclosed the underlying model architecture, training data, latency, error rates or moderation system. The company’s statement that editors review Bravoverse output is therefore important: this is presented as an AI-assisted editorial product, not an entirely autonomous channel.

Authenticity and editorial responsibility
A guide avatar can introduce clips without being confused with Cohen speaking live, but viewers need clear labeling that the presenter is AI-generated. The same principle applies to any newly generated commentary or recommendation. If an automated narration misstates a storyline, removes context or spoils an episode, responsibility still rests with the service and its editorial process.

The sports feature is more than a highlights feed. NBCUniversal described a full live broadcast reformatted for a 9:16 phone screen through AI-powered, real-time cropping. The first announced test was for NBA games in spring 2026, inside Peacock’s Courtside Live product.
The underlying game remains produced by NBC Sports. AI is used to reframe the conventional broadcast so viewers can watch without rotating a phone. A 16:9 image contains substantially more horizontal information than a 9:16 frame, however. An automated crop must decide what to keep during full-court transitions, defensive rotations, replays and multi-player action. A crop that works for a close-up may miss off-ball movement or another important player. Peacock has not published performance benchmarks proving that every key event is captured.

Courtside Live is part of a larger interactive sports plan
Vertical video extends an NBA product strategy Peacock announced for the 2025–26 season. The company’s May 12, 2025 announcement described:
- Live in Browse: entering games directly from the home page.
- Can’t Miss Highlights: catching up on notable moments and joining the live game.
- Performance View: an optional real-time statistics overlay.
- ScoreCard: a points-based interactive experience described as “bingo meets fantasy sports.”
- Courtside Live: curated camera angles and courtside-oriented views.
Peacock’s NBA rights arrangement began with the 2025–26 season. It carries exclusive national Monday night games, while NBC and Peacock present other national coverage; rights and simulcasts vary by event.

The gaming layer stays inside the mobile app
Law & Order: Clue Hunter
This hidden-object mystery asks players to gather clues and help identify suspects. NBCUniversal says it was made with Wolf Games and uses that company’s proprietary generative-AI gaming engine.

Public Eye
Public Eye is an original interactive mystery rather than a direct adaptation of an existing NBCUniversal franchise. It combines episodic storytelling, original characters and clue-based investigation.
Jeopardy! mini-game
The daily trivia experience includes streak challenges and shareable results. Its purpose is to move viewers directly from watching the quiz show to participating in a short game.
These are in-app mobile fan experiences, not evidence that Peacock is becoming a console, PC or cloud-gaming platform. Peacock also has related prediction games and Wheel of Fortune content, but the announcement does not establish a broad premium game library.

Why NBCUniversal is making the change
The design points to several strategic goals: increasing time in the app, making older library footage easier to discover, turning fandoms into repeat visits, making mobile sports more convenient, and creating additional advertising and interactive-brand opportunities. NBCUniversal explicitly discusses deeper franchise engagement and advertising possibilities around the Bravoverse, including interactive moments involving the avatar.
Those are strategic aims, not demonstrated financial results. The announcement does not prove that these features have increased subscribers, retention, revenue or profitability.
Is Peacock becoming TikTok?
Peacock is borrowing engagement mechanics associated with TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts: vertical video, persistent scrolling, personalization and short clips. It is not becoming a general-purpose social network. The feed remains built around NBCUniversal-controlled entertainment, sports and franchise material. The more accurate description is a premium streaming service adopting short-form discovery mechanics while keeping viewing and monetization in its own app.
What subscribers should know
Feature availability may differ by launch phase, event, operating system and device. The March announcement used future-oriented language, so it should not be read as confirmation that every feature was live for every U.S. subscriber by August 16, 2026. A dedicated vertical-video section was also described as replacing the bottom-navigation download button on mobile; downloads were to remain accessible from user profiles.

Who is most likely to benefit?
- Bravo viewers who want rapid catch-up across many seasons.
- Sports viewers who primarily watch on a phone and value alternate views or statistics.
- Fans of Law & Order, Jeopardy! and mystery formats who enjoy short games between episodes.
Who may see little value?
- Viewers who watch almost exclusively on a large television.
- People seeking a comprehensive console or PC game catalog.
- Subscribers who do not use Peacock’s franchises or live-sports inventory.
- Anyone expecting Premium Plus to remove advertising from every live event.
The bottom line
Peacock is testing a “streaming-plus” model: personalized clip feeds, interactive live sports and lightweight games alongside conventional programming. The concept is ambitious, but its success depends on accurate crops, useful recommendations, transparent synthetic-media labeling and launches that feel additive rather than distracting. For subscribers, the expansion is most meaningful when Peacock’s Bravo, sports or franchise catalog already matches what they watch.
