Oswalt voices Pittsburgh Ledger reporter Teddy Barstow; Cook voices fellow reporter Julia Paige. The comic follows a masked vigilante amid murders, copycat violence and political fallout in Pittsburgh—a crime-focused superhero story that can be described as superhero noir, though Image’s announcement calls it a “true crime”-style superhero drama.
What Oswalt and Cook do in NO/ONE
Oswalt and Cook perform in the audio companion, not as comic creators. In WHO IS NO/ONE, they voice reporters Teddy Barstow and Julia Paige, respectively, as the Pittsburgh Ledger journalists investigate the events surrounding the masked figure. Image’s collected-edition listing describes the podcast as a free, ten-episode companion and also lists Todd Stashwick in its cast. Image Comics’ announcement introduced the podcast and the performers’ roles.
What the comic is about
NO/ONE is a ten-issue Image Comics series set in the Massive-Verse. Its story begins with the Richard Roe murders in Pittsburgh. The killings fuel a dangerous political movement and copycat violence, while a masked vigilante pursues accountability. The reporters’ investigation is part of a larger story about crime, public response and the identity behind the mask. Image’s series page lists the run and issue archive; the first-issue listing gives the opening premise and credits.
Kyle Higgins and Brian Buccellato write the comic, with art by Geraldo Borges. Higgins described the project as “our ultra-contemporary take on an urban vigilante” in Image’s announcement. “Superhero noir” is a useful description of its mix of vigilante action, investigation and urban mystery, rather than a formal genre label established by the publisher.

How the comic and podcast differ
| Format | What it offers | Best starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Comic | Ten illustrated issues tell the main NO/ONE story. | The collected paperback gathers the complete comic run in one volume. |
| Podcast | WHO IS NO/ONE is a scripted audio companion told across ten episodes, featuring the reporters voiced by Cook and Oswalt. | Choose it if you want the story in audio and want to follow the reporters’ perspective. |
The two titles are related but not interchangeable: NO/ONE is the comic, while WHO IS NO/ONE is the companion podcast.
