Patrick Dempsey’s thriller Memory of a Killer is already on television: FOX premiered the series on January 25, 2026, as the first night of a two-night launch event. It follows Angelo, a hitman whose criminal life and family responsibilities collide as he develops early-onset Alzheimer’s.

What is Memory of a Killer about?
Dempsey plays Angelo, a hitman trying to keep his criminal work separate from his family life as early-onset Alzheimer’s begins to affect him. In FOX’s official setup, his wife’s death may not have been accidental, and his pregnant daughter becomes a target. Those are story details from the network’s announcement, not medical guidance.
FOX describes the series as a psychological thriller and calls it “a redemptive story about a man who is losing his memory but gaining a conscience.” The show is inspired by the 2003 Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer, also titled La Memoire Du Tueur. FOX Television Network president Michael Thorn described the series as “a propulsive series with a noisy, unrelenting character hook that immediately grabbed our attention.” Both quotations appear in FOX’s series-order announcement.

Who stars in the series?
FOX’s official series page lists the principal cast and characters as follows:
- Patrick Dempsey as Angelo Doyle
- Michael Imperioli as Dutch
- Richard Harmon as Joe
- Odeya Rush as Maria
- Daniel David Stewart as Jeff
FOX’s casting and order materials call Dempsey’s character Angelo Ledda, rather than Angelo Doyle, and describe Dutch as Angelo’s old friend and employer. Because the network’s pages use different surnames, “Angelo” is the clearest way to refer to the character without implying the discrepancy has been resolved.

FOX names Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone as creators and executive producers. Cathy Schulman, Arthur Sarkissian, Martin Campbell and Peter Bouckaert are also executive producers. The series page additionally credits Aaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler as executive producers and co-showrunners. Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment produce the series.
