The Pat McAfee Show ended abruptly on June 20, 2024, after a reported power outage in its studio. The timing and audio led viewers to speculate that WWE’s Wyatt Sicks faction was involved, but no reporting established that as the cause. McAfee addressed the speculation the next day, and follow-up footage presented by the show depicted a drone and guest Jack Carr.
What happened to the Pat McAfee Show?
The June 20, 2024 episode ended suddenly after what contemporaneous coverage described as a power outage at the show’s studio, known as the ThunderDome. WrestleZone reproduced McAfee’s description of the incident: “At the end of yesterday’s show a startling and eery power outage took place in our ThunderDOME.. It shut down our progrum abruptly and left A LOT of folks worried and confused..” WrestleZone’s report attributed the statement to McAfee’s X account.

Did the Wyatt Sicks cause the outage?
That was viewer speculation, not a verified explanation. The timing and audio of the interruption reminded viewers of the Wyatt Sicks’ recent appearance on WWE Raw, prompting theories that the faction had interrupted McAfee’s program. The reporting described no evidence that WWE or the faction caused an actual power failure.
How did McAfee address the rumors?
On June 21, McAfee said he had seen the speculation. He also explained that he and the crew initially had not thought viewers would understand what happened without seeing it. WrestleZone reported on his response.

A follow-up report described footage shown by the program: a drone appears in the studio and threatens to end the show, then guest Jack Carr shoots it. The segment also included an advertisement for Carr’s new book. The report does not identify the book’s title, so it cannot be named here. The follow-up coverage describes the footage as the show’s explanation of the interruption; it does not establish that the Wyatt Sicks caused the reported outage.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the incident drew attention
The interruption landed soon after the Wyatt Sicks’ Raw appearance, so familiar audio and timing encouraged viewers to read the sudden ending as part of the faction’s storyline. That connection helps explain the rumor, but it does not turn a fan theory into a real-world cause.

For context, ESPN’s official biography identifies McAfee as host of The Pat McAfee Show and says the program joined ESPN’s daytime lineup in 2023 through a licensing agreement. That background describes the show’s place in ESPN’s schedule, not the cause of the June 2024 incident. ESPN’s biography.
