The phrase “worst ratings record” therefore needs a boundary. The figures concern particular episodes on IMDb, as reported at a particular time. They do not establish an all-time ranking of anime episodes, television episodes, or even a live ranking among One-Punch Man episodes. User-submitted ratings can change as votes are added.
Why episode 6’s reported score differs between articles
GamesRadar reported a 2.7/10 IMDb rating for episode 6, “Motley Heroes,” on November 19, 2025. CBR’s later November 27 report gave episode 6 a score of 1.4. What viewers criticized—and what that does not prove

That reporting offers context for the reaction, but it does not establish a single cause for the rating or turn a user score into an objective measure of quality.

The same report quoted One Piece animator Vincent Chansard cautioning against placing responsibility solely on the animation studio: “I think a lot of people blame J.C. Staff, but it’s a bit more complex. Sometimes, it’s not about the animation studio; sometimes it’s about the production committee that is on top of everything.” His reported comment is a general caution about production responsibility, not evidence about the specific arrangements behind Season 3.

The official One-Punch Man anime website announced on September 25, 2026 that Season 3’s second cour is planned for 2027. It also announced a rebroadcast of the first cour beginning October 12, 2026. How to read “lowest-rated” claims carefully
- Check the date of the rating snapshot; episode scores can change as users vote.
- Compare the same platform and timestamp, and include vote counts when they are available.
- Separate episode ratings from season averages.
- Ask what “worst” covers: this series, anime episodes on IMDb, or all television.
- Treat audience criticism and a numerical score as different kinds of evidence.
