MeriStation says Imu was introduced in Chapter 906 and characterizes the wait as “almost 300 chapters and 8 years.” That is the outlet’s rounded description of the interval, rather than a separately verified count. The reveal’s weight comes from the prolonged withholding of a central character’s appearance and the status assigned to Imu in the account—not from proof that every mystery surrounding the character has been solved.

Why did the reveal feel expected?
MeriStation says events in Chapter 1178 made it possible that readers would finally see Imu in the next chapter. That kind of immediate setup makes the reveal structurally foreseeable: the preceding chapter raises the prospect, and 1179 delivers it. The longer buildup also trained readers to expect that the story would eventually put a face to a figure whose identity and role had been withheld.
That is a different claim from saying the reveal matched specific fan theories or that readers universally predicted it. The available account supports the setup and the payoff, not a measured audience consensus or a documented catalogue of predictions. “Went exactly as expected” is best read as an argument about narrative timing: the reveal arrives when the story has made it feel due.
