The Japanese television broadcast was scheduled for 11:15 p.m. JST. The episode is no longer an upcoming release: as of August 11, 2026, the countdown has ended and Episode 1129 is part of the completed Egghead storyline.
For international viewers, contemporary Crunchyroll release guides reported a U.S. streaming time of 8:45 a.m. Pacific Time and 11:45 a.m. Eastern Time on May 18, 2025. What happens in Episode 1129?
Spoiler warning: Episode 1129 begins the anime’s extended look at Bartholomew Kuma’s past.
The story moves into Kuma’s childhood in the Sorbet Kingdom and explores the persecution his family suffered because of their Buccaneer heritage. It also covers the death of Kuma’s father and leads to Kuma’s meeting with the young Emporio Ivankov and Ginny during the God Valley human-hunting event.
The episode is an important transition away from the immediate present-day action on Egghead Island. Rather than treating Kuma only as a former warlord, cyborg, or Revolutionary Army commander, the episode starts establishing the experiences that shaped his identity and his later sacrifices.

Was Episode 1129 released at 7:15 a.m. Pacific Time?
Some release listings gave 7:15 a.m. PT and 10:15 a.m. ET. Those figures are the direct time-zone conversion of the Japanese 11:15 p.m. broadcast. Other contemporary guides reported the later Crunchyroll streaming release at 8:45 a.m. PT and 11:45 a.m. ET.
The distinction matters: the first pair reflects a conversion of the Japanese television broadcast, while the second pair was reported as the international streaming schedule. The safest historical summary is therefore 11:15 p.m. JST for the Japanese broadcast and 8:45 a.m. PT / 11:45 a.m. ET for the reported Crunchyroll release. Neither time should be described as an upcoming release now that the episode has aired.
