Ella Bright plays Hannah, and Belmont Cameli plays Garrett. Season 1 premiered May 13, 2026, and is streaming on Prime Video, subject to regional availability.
What the first look reveals
Teen Vogue’s exclusive first look introduces a series based on Kennedy’s Off-Campus books, set around an elite hockey team at the fictional Briar University. The story pairs the team’s captain with a student whose ambitions and romantic life sit outside the rink. [Teen Vogue]
The feature page displays May 14, 2026, while its text says the exclusive first look was published March 18, 2026. Because the show premiered in May, the first look is now a preview of a released series rather than an announcement of a forthcoming adaptation.
Season 1 adapts The Deal
The first season takes its central relationship from The Deal, published in 2015 and identified by Kennedy’s official site as Off-Campus Book 1. Hannah Wells is a songwriter and classical music major; Garrett Graham is an all-star hockey captain. Their arrangement starts when Garrett needs tutoring and Hannah agrees to help. In return, he pretends to date her to make the person she has a crush on jealous. The tutoring-and-pretend-dating bargain becomes a romance. [Elle Kennedy]

Kennedy’s site describes the novel as readable as a standalone. The tone behind the adaptation
Creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy told Teen Vogue that the creative team drew inspiration from John Hughes’s 1980s coming-of-age films and 1990s teen romantic comedies, including 10 Things I Hate About You. She described the setting’s emotional territory this way: “It’s this magical bubble where you’re kind of neither a kid nor an adult, and you’re figuring out who you are, who you want to be, and who you want to fall in love with.” [Teen Vogue]

Amazon’s September 11, 2026 update confirms a second season focused on Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis. Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn play Allie and Dean, respectively. The official update consulted does not give a premiere date, so there is no confirmed release date to report. [Amazon]
Amazon also reports that season 1 reached 36 million viewers worldwide in its first 12 days and calls it the third most-viewed debut season in Prime Video history. Those are Amazon’s reported figures and ranking, not an independently verified measurement. Teen Vogue, meanwhile, said in its 2026 first-look feature that the book series had sold more than six million copies; that figure is the publication’s report, not a current audited sales total.
