A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11After an Airtel router reboot, first wait until the router is back online and confirm your computer can reach the internet. Then check OBS and YouTube Live Control Room. If OBS has not resumed sending, reconnect or restart the stream in OBS using your existing YouTube stream configuration. A router reboot does not, by itself, mean your stream key has changed, and automatic recovery is not guaranteed in every setup.
Restore the connection in this order
- Wait for the router and internet service to return. Check that the computer can open websites or otherwise access the internet. Until it can reach the internet, OBS cannot reach YouTube’s ingest server. Router recovery time and indicators vary by model and service; the router reboot alone does not identify a particular Airtel device or broadband type.
- Check OBS. Look at its connection status and dropped-frame counter. OBS says dropped frames and intermittent disconnections can point to an unstable network path between the computer and the remote ingest server. If you need more detail, review the OBS log. See OBS’s Stream Connection Troubleshooting guide.
- Check YouTube Live Control Room. Open the stream’s health panel and read any status or error messages. This helps distinguish an encoder that is no longer sending from a stream-health problem visible on YouTube. See YouTube’s live-stream metrics guidance.
- If internet works but OBS remains disconnected, reconnect the encoder. In OBS, use the existing YouTube service, server and stream key, then start streaming again. YouTube’s encoder setup uses the stream URL and key to send the feed; its setup guide is at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. Confirm in Live Control Room that the incoming feed and stream health have returned.
- Change the stream key only if there is a key-related reason. A network outage is not evidence that the key changed. Reset or replace it if it may be compromised, or if YouTube or the encoder reports a key-related setup issue. See Manage live stream settings and Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
- If the internet still has not returned, resolve the service connection first. Check the router’s service/status indicators and use Airtel support for guidance specific to your model and connection. OBS cannot restore a router’s internet service.
What the reboot can—and cannot—tell you
A router restart can interrupt the network path between OBS and YouTube, but the available information does not establish a particular Airtel router model, connection type, reboot duration or recovery behavior. Do not assume the reboot changed your public IP, invalidated the YouTube key or always requires an OBS restart. The right next step depends on what is actually reporting a problem: the home internet connection, OBS’s encoder connection or YouTube’s stream health.
If OBS keeps dropping after internet returns
Check upload capacity and bitrate
OBS identifies an unstable connection or a configured bitrate that the connection cannot sustain as causes of dropped frames; enough drops can disconnect a stream. Review OBS’s bitrate against your stable upload capacity rather than relying on a single speed-test result. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom and accounting for the combined bandwidth of primary and backup streams if you use both. A connectivity disruption can still break a live stream. Read YouTube’s streaming tips.
Improve the computer-to-router link
If the computer is on Wi-Fi, try Ethernet where practical. OBS warns that “WiFi may be unstable for streaming.” An Ethernet cable can improve the local connection between the computer and router, but it cannot restore an Airtel service outage or shorten an unfinished router reboot. OBS also recommends checking router connectivity and network hardware when troubleshooting. See its connection troubleshooting guide.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Review OBS network settings and other software
If the connection is still unreliable, OBS’s guide suggests reviewing network settings such as Bind to IP (normally left at the default) and checking for possible interference from a VPN, security software, network-priority software or outdated network drivers. The guide lists some settings as Windows-only. It describes IPv4-only as a diagnostic to try if needed, not a universal fix. Dynamic bitrate can be a fallback to reduce drops, but it may lower video quality and does not repair the underlying network problem. If local checks do not resolve the issue, contact your ISP.
Reduce the chance of a repeat interruption
- Use Ethernet for the streaming computer if feasible, and make sure the router and network hardware are reliable.
- Set OBS’s bitrate below what your connection can sustain consistently, leaving YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom. Do not treat a speed test as a guarantee of sustained capacity.
- Know how to check OBS’s connection status and YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health messages before starting an important stream.
- If you use a backup encoder, test failover deliberately. YouTube suggests testing by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet connection; that test does not guarantee resilience to every router or ISP interruption. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded video playing as a 24/7 YouTube stream rather than broadcast live from a camera, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; it supports uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Start the free day with StreamNeo.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does OBS always reconnect automatically after a router reboot?
No. Whether it resumes depends on the connection and encoder state. Check OBS and YouTube Live Control Room after internet access returns, and restart the stream in OBS if it remains disconnected.
Should I create a new YouTube stream key after the reboot?
Not solely because the router rebooted. Keep the existing key unless it may be compromised or YouTube or OBS reports a key-related problem.
