Oasis announced in August 2024 that Liam and Noel Gallagher would perform together again under the band’s name, launching a reunion tour in 2025. The Live ’25 shows have since concluded; the tour’s official schedule lists the dates as sold out. The announcement’s “great wait is over” line was part of a statement issued collectively as Oasis—not a separately attributed quote from either brother.
What Oasis announced in August 2024
The announcement brought Liam and Noel Gallagher back together as Oasis, following the band’s split in 2009. The initial domestic leg named five cities: Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. Cardiff’s Principality Stadium dates were set for 4 and 5 July 2025, with the initial UK ticket sale scheduled for 31 August 2024. The stadium’s announcement listed Ticketmaster, Gigs and Tours and See Tickets for UK sales, and Ticketmaster Ireland for Dublin; those were routes for the historic sale, not active purchase options for completed shows. Principality Stadium’s announcement covered the original dates and sale details. The band later announced additional dates and locations; the official Live ’25 schedule records the listed tour dates and their sold-out status.

What “The great wait is over” meant
The phrase in the tour headline echoes Oasis’s announcement statement, reproduced by Principality Stadium as a collective statement from the band:
“The guns have fallen silent.
The stars have aligned.
The great wait is over.
Come see.
It will not be televised.”Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.#1 Best Overall
The wording belongs to the band’s announcement; the cited source does not assign it individually to Liam or Noel.
The tour is over, and ticket links are historical
Live ’25 is not an upcoming tour. As of 4 October 2026, the listed 2025 dates are in the past, and Oasis’s official schedule marks them sold out. The band’s site now includes later tour activity, which is separate from the 2025 reunion announcement. For any later dates, check Oasis’s official site and authorized sellers for current details rather than relying on the original Live ’25 sale routes.
What the CMA found about Oasis ticket pricing
After widespread complaints about Ticketmaster’s Oasis sale, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigated the sale and closed its investigation in September 2025. Its conclusion distinguished between dynamic pricing and tiered ticket batches:
- The CMA said it found no evidence that algorithmic dynamic pricing—prices changing in real time in response to demand—was used in the Oasis sale.
- It described standing tickets being sold in batches at different prices as cheaper tickets sold out. It also found that some “platinum” tickets cost almost 2.5 times the price of standard tickets, without the difference in benefits being sufficiently clear to buyers. That figure applies to some platinum tickets, not every Oasis ticket.
- Ticketmaster gave undertakings to improve information about ticket prices and types, including advance notice when tiered pricing is used and clearer price information for people waiting in online queues.
The regulator’s findings and commitments are set out in the CMA case record and its September 2025 announcement.

The tour announcement also connected the reunion to physical releases and merchandise. The Principality Stadium announcement said the Definitely Maybe Deluxe 30th Anniversary Edition was available to preorder at that time. Oasis later announced tour-edition coloured vinyl formats of its catalogue, as well as Live ’25 clothing and accessories; its merchandise announcement confirms those product categories.
Those announcements do not establish whether a specific record or item is in stock now, its exact pressing details, whether it is available through Amazon, or whether a particular seller is authorized. Oasis’s current homepage displays an Adidas/Oasis Live ’25 collaboration and links to the official store, but that does not establish affiliate enrollment, commission terms or current inventory.
