The theme was “Good bones.” The puzzle’s answers are names of bones, and its spangram names the body structure they form.

How to earn an in-game hint
Strands is a themed word-search puzzle. According to gameplay instructions attributed to the New York Times by Parade, finding three non-theme words earns an in-game hint that reveals the letters of a theme word. Theme words highlight in blue; the spangram, which touches two opposite sides of the board, highlights in yellow.

The seven theme words were:
- SKULL
- FEMUR
- FIBULA
- ULNA
- RADIUS
- STERNUM
- HUMERUS
Spangram
The spangram was SKELETON. It connects the puzzle’s bone names under the “Good bones” theme.
Why these answers fit
Each theme answer is a bone name: the skull is part of the head; the femur and fibula are in the leg; the ulna and radius are in the forearm; the sternum is in the chest; and the humerus is in the upper arm. Together, those terms point to the skeleton, which is the spangram.

About this puzzle
This answer key is for the historical Friday, October 31, 2025 puzzle, game #607—not a different Strands board using the same theme phrase. Forbes reported the theme and answer key, and TechRadar independently reported the same game number and solutions. Parade relayed the gameplay instructions cited above. These are secondary reports; the official NYT game page was not verified.
