Why the year matters
March 3, 2025 was a Monday and had a different puzzle. Its Across answers were SNAP, SUEDE, ASPEN, CHAPS, and KILT; its Down answers were SUSHI, NEPAL, ADEPT, PENS, and SACK, according to Forbes contributor Erik Kain. The 2026 answers above are reported by Forbes contributor Kris Holt.
How to replay the March 3 Mini
The New York Times describes the Mini as a smaller version of its Crossword. Its goal is to fill the white squares with letters that form crossing words or phrases, using the Across and Down clues. You can play on the web, in the NYT Games app, or in the News app, according to the NYT Games Help Center.
To find a past puzzle, open the Mini archive, navigate to the month and year, and select the date. The official archive instructions say Games and All Access subscribers have archive access; people without those subscriptions have limited access. Check the live NYT page for current account terms.
