How to solve the board
- Spot the obvious FIRST phrases: first aid, first lady and first responder. First Nations completes the set.
- Look for the clean LAST group: last laugh, last resort, last straw and Last Supper.
- With those eight tiles removed, divide the remainder between SECOND and THIRD. The remaining phrases form the two groups exactly.
How Connections works
The NYT game presents 16 words and asks you to sort them into four groups of four. Groups are color-coded by difficulty. An incorrect submission costs one of your four allowed mistakes; the game ends after the fourth mistake. Puzzle #781 is playable through the NYT Games website or app.
