The NFL Network Saturday Week 17 tripleheader was played on Saturday, December 28, 2024. It is no longer a live event, but the archived schedule included three games: Chargers at Patriots at 1:00 p.m. ET, Broncos at Bengals at 4:30 p.m. ET, and Cardinals at Rams at 8:00 p.m. ET.
All three games were carried by NFL Network, with viewing also available through the league’s 2024 NFL+ offering, authenticated TV-provider platforms, certain local broadcast stations, and national live-audio outlets. Because NFL+ device rights and game access can change by season, current subscribers should verify the applicable plan and supported device before relying on an archived viewing guide.
The complete 2024 Week 17 Saturday schedule
| Kickoff | Game | Venue | 2024 NFL Network broadcast team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1:00 p.m. ET | Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots | Gillette Stadium | Chris Rose, Ross Tucker, and Steve Wyche |
| 4:30 p.m. ET | Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals | Paycor Stadium | Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, and Melanie Collins |
| 8:00 p.m. ET | Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams | SoFi Stadium | Rich Eisen, Kurt Warner, and Jamie Erdahl |
The original NFL schedule presented the slate as a tripleheader involving four teams in the postseason race. Those playoff implications belong to the 2024 season and should not be read as current 2026 standings.
Where the games aired
NFL Network
NFL Network was the primary television destination for all three games. Viewers with an eligible cable, satellite, or live-TV subscription could watch on the NFL Network channel. Depending on the distributor, the same subscription could also be used to authenticate in the provider’s website or streaming app.

Authentication normally requires the login for a participating TV provider that includes NFL Network. Owning a smart TV or streaming box does not, by itself, unlock the channel.
NFL+ and authenticated streaming
The NFL’s December 2024 schedule article said that all three games were available across devices through NFL+ and through authenticated NFL Network distributor platforms. That is the relevant historical availability for this tripleheader.
Current NFL documentation describes NFL+ as including NFL Network, but it separates NFL Network access and replay features from live local and primetime regular-season games. Under current service rules, some live regular-season game access is restricted to phones and tablets, while NFL Network and other features may be available on a broader range of supported devices. Plan names, device entitlements, blackout rules, and availability can change between seasons.
For that reason, an NFL+ subscription should not be treated as a blanket promise that every live NFL game can be watched on every television. Check the current NFL+ plan details and the specific device you intend to use.

TV-provider streaming
If you already paid for a participating television provider, the most straightforward streaming route was to install that provider’s app, select the NFL Network channel, and sign in with your provider credentials. NFL’s ways-to-watch information uses provider and location details to determine availability, so the exact result can depend on your market and subscription package.
This route is different from signing up for a standalone league service: the provider must carry NFL Network, and your account must be authorized for that channel.
Local stations listed for the 2024 broadcasts
The 2024 NFL schedule information also listed local stations in the markets of the teams involved:
- KCBS: Los Angeles, for the Chargers and Rams markets
- WCVB: Boston
- KMGH: Denver
- WXIX: Cincinnati
- KPNX: Phoenix
These stations were tied to the 2024 broadcast arrangement. They should not be assumed to carry a comparable NFL Network game or the same team’s games in 2026. Local availability can also depend on your precise broadcast market, not simply the nearest city.

- UP TO 4K HDR TV TUNER OUTPUT – Supports up to 4K resolution with HDR for sharper detail, richer color, and improved contrast on compatible NextGen TV broadcasts and 4K TVs (broadcast availability varies by location).
- 64GB BUILT-IN STORAGE WITH DVR RECORDING & PLAYBACK – 64GB of onboard storage comes ready for DVR use right out of the box — no additional accessories required. Record live over-the-air TV with pause, rewind, and replay functionality for convenient time-shifted viewing. Expand recording capacity further by connecting external storage (USB flash drive or microSD card, sold separately).
- DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS & AC-4 AUDIO SUPPORT – Compatible with modern broadcast audio formats for clearer dialogue and immersive sound when supported by your TV or audio system. Smart TVs required for this functionality.
For an eligible local over-the-air broadcast, a properly positioned TV antenna for local NFL games may be useful. An antenna does not provide NFL Network nationally, and reception depends on distance, terrain, building materials, and the station’s signal.
Watching on a television, phone, or streaming device
NFL support documentation lists the following among platforms optimized for NFL+ functionality:
- Amazon Fire TV 6 or later
- Roku with firmware 11.0.0 b1 or later
- Apple TV running tvOS 16 or later
- Android TV or Google TV 7.1 or later
- Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X
- Selected smart-TV platforms
NFL also specifically documents downloading the NFL app to Amazon Fire TV. If you need a connected-TV option, an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is one example of compatible streaming hardware to investigate, subject to the current app and model requirements.
Important: A Fire TV Stick, Roku, Apple TV, game console, or smart TV is only the hardware. It does not include NFL Network or NFL+ access. You still need an eligible NFL+ plan or an authenticated TV-provider login. Hardware compatibility also does not override NFL’s current restrictions on certain live regular-season features.

Phones and tablets can be important for NFL+ access because current NFL rules distinguish mobile live-game rights from connected-TV rights. If a particular game or feature is listed as mobile-only, casting or opening the app on a television may not provide the same entitlement. Confirm the current rule for the plan and game rather than assuming that a supported app means unrestricted television playback.

Audio-only alternatives
For listeners who did not need video, the 2024 NFL article listed national live audio through:
- Westwood One
- SiriusXM
- The NFL app
- NFL.com
These services were audio alternatives, not substitutes for an NFL Network video stream. Availability can vary by game, platform, subscription, and location.
Quick route-selection guide
- You had a television package carrying NFL Network: watch on the NFL Network channel or authenticate the provider’s app.
- You used the league’s direct-to-consumer service: check the NFL+ plan, the game entitlement, and whether your intended device was supported for that feature.
- You lived in one of the listed local markets: check the local station’s schedule; over-the-air access depended on location and reception.
- You only needed play-by-play: use Westwood One, SiriusXM, the NFL app, or NFL.com where the audio broadcast was available.
- You were trying to watch now: remember that this tripleheader took place on December 28, 2024. It is an archived schedule, not a current live listing.
Do not confuse this slate with 2025 Week 17
The 2024 Saturday tripleheader is separate from the 2025 Week 17 Saturday doubleheader, which involved Houston at Los Angeles and Baltimore at Green Bay. If a search result lists those games, it is referring to a different season and not the three-game NFL Network schedule covered here.
Source and date note
This guide preserves the historical details from the NFL’s December 17, 2024 Week 17 schedule article and supplements them with the league’s current NFL+ and device-support guidance. The historical local-station list and 2024 viewing claims should not be generalized to later seasons.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The historical NFL Network Saturday tripleheader took place on December 28, 2024. NFL Network was the main video outlet, with NFL+ and authenticated provider streaming listed for that season, selected local stations serving participating markets, and Westwood One, SiriusXM, the NFL app, and NFL.com providing audio. Because the games are over and NFL access rules change, verify any current NFL+ or provider entitlement rather than relying on the word “today.”
