The 2025 NFL Christmas Day Netflix games began at 1:00 p.m. ET and 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 25, 2025. The Dallas Cowboys played the Washington Commanders first, followed by the Detroit Lions against the Minnesota Vikings. Both games were included with every Netflix plan, with no separate NFL package or pay-per-view charge.
This is now a historical viewing guide: the 2025 broadcasts have ended and the games are no longer available under Netflix’s original live-event window. The information below records the official schedule and the viewing options that applied on Christmas Day 2025.

The official NFL schedule announcement and the final Week 17 schedule confirm the two kickoff times.
When did Netflix’s Christmas pregame coverage begin?
Netflix’s live coverage began before each game:
- 11:00 a.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. CT / 9:00 a.m. MT / 8:00 a.m. PT: Pregame coverage from Washington before Cowboys–Commanders.
- 4:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. CT / 2:00 p.m. MT / 1:00 p.m. PT: Pregame coverage from Minneapolis before Lions–Vikings.
The first game kicked off at 1:00 p.m. ET, while the second began at 4:30 p.m. ET. Netflix’s broadcast team included Ian Eagle, Nate Burleson and Matt Ryan for Dallas–Washington, with Sara Walsh and Melanie Collins reporting. Noah Eagle and Drew Brees called Detroit–Minnesota, with AJ Ross and Dianna Russini on the sidelines. The Netflix Tudum broadcast guide published the schedule and announcer assignments.
How to find the NFL games on Netflix
On the day of the broadcast, viewers could watch by following these steps:
- Open the Netflix app on a supported device, or visit Netflix in a supported browser.
- Sign in to an existing Netflix account or create one.
- Look for the NFL Christmas Gameday title on the Netflix home screen.
- If it did not appear in the carousel, use Netflix’s search function and search for NFL.
- Select the live Christmas Day stream.
The NFL’s official viewing guide said the games were available on smart TVs, streaming players, Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, Mac and Windows computers, and game consoles.
Did every Netflix plan include the games?
Yes. Every Netflix plan included the 2025 Christmas Day games. There was no special sports tier, NFL add-on or pay-per-view fee.

How to create a Netflix account
On a phone or computer, viewers could go to netflix.com/signup, enter an email address and password, choose a plan and add a payment method. On a television or streaming device, they could open the Netflix app, choose Get Started and follow the activation instructions. Netflix allowed subscribers to cancel at any time, subject to the account terms in effect.

Ways to watch without Netflix
Local CBS television in the participating team markets
In the United States, the games were also shown by local CBS affiliates in the television markets of the competing teams. That did not mean the games were nationally available on CBS. A viewer generally needed to be in one of the Dallas, Washington, Detroit or Minnesota team markets and receive the relevant local station through an antenna, cable provider or live-TV service.
Local listings were the safest way to confirm the station and schedule. The Minnesota Vikings specifically confirmed that WCCO televised Lions–Vikings in the Twin Cities. The NFL’s general support page did not provide a dependable final station list for every market, so station call signs should not be assumed outside verified local listings.

NFL+ on a U.S. phone or tablet
NFL+ offered the Christmas games live on U.S. mobile devices, including phones and tablets. It was not a general replacement for Netflix on a living-room television. NFL’s broader live-game guidance limits live NFL+ viewing by device, while full-game replays are available on more types of devices.
In other words, NFL+ could be an answer for someone watching on a supported U.S. mobile device, but not normally for someone looking to stream the game directly to a television. See the NFL’s live-game access guide for the applicable device rules.
What about NFL Sunday Ticket?
NFL Sunday Ticket was not listed by the NFL as the service for these Christmas Day games. Sunday Ticket is designed around out-of-market Sunday afternoon games, while Netflix was the designated national streaming home for this Christmas doubleheader. It should not be treated as a substitute for the Netflix broadcast.

International viewing options
Netflix announced that the two games would stream globally, except for customers in Vietnam. Netflix’s announced audio options included:
- English
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Portuguese
The officially announced alternatives and regional distributors included:
- NFL Game Pass International in applicable territories.
- CTV, TSN and RDS in Canada.
- Movistar in Spain.
Rights arrangements can vary by territory and season. Travelers should check what Netflix or the local broadcaster shows in their current location rather than assume that a U.S. subscription or a particular channel will work abroad. A VPN should not be treated as a guaranteed or officially endorsed workaround.
Replay availability was limited
The Christmas Day games did not have a normal, indefinite Netflix replay window. The NFL’s official FAQ said that each game expired:
- Three hours after the game ended in the United States.
- Twenty-four hours after the game ended in other countries.
That rule applied to the 2025 event. Since the broadcasts are now historical, the live titles may no longer appear in Netflix at all. Anyone looking for an archived game should use an officially listed NFL, team or broadcaster replay source rather than expect it to remain in the Netflix library.
Netflix device and browser problems
Some older devices can play ordinary Netflix programs but do not support Netflix live events. Netflix may display an error such as This device doesn’t support livestreaming or error code E125. In that situation, Netflix says the viewer needs a newer supported device; the event may become available on an unsupported device only after the live broadcast has ended.

For computer viewing, Netflix’s published requirements specified Safari 15 or later on Mac and iPad when using Safari. Browser and device requirements can change, so the current Netflix browser requirements and supported-device list should be checked before any future live event.
If the game did not appear in the app
- Confirm that the correct Netflix account is signed in.
- Search Netflix for NFL instead of relying only on the home-page carousel.
- Update the Netflix app.
- Close and restart Netflix, then restart the streaming device if necessary.
- Try Netflix in a current supported browser or use a newer smart TV, streaming player or game console.
- Check whether the device supports live events.
- If an error code remains, use Netflix’s live-event troubleshooting page or contact Netflix support.
The complete 2025 Christmas Day NFL schedule
The two Netflix games were only the afternoon portion of the holiday schedule. The third game was separate:

Netflix’s 2025 Christmas presentation also featured entertainment around the games. Kelly Clarkson opened the broadcast with Underneath the Tree. The Lions–Vikings window included Snoop Dogg’s Holiday Halftime Party, along with performances by Lainey Wilson and EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami from KPop Demon Hunters. The Netflix Tudum announcement covered the entertainment lineup.
Do not confuse the 2025 guide with the 2026 schedule
The NFL’s next Christmas Day schedule changed both the matchups and the non-Netflix game. For Friday, December 25, 2026, the announced schedule is:

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the 2025 NFL Christmas games still available on Netflix?
No. The 2025 live-event window has ended. The NFL said the games expired three hours after they ended in the United States and 24 hours after they ended in other countries, so they should not be expected to remain in Netflix’s library.
Could I watch the Netflix Christmas games without a Netflix subscription?
In the United States, alternatives included a local CBS affiliate in the participating teams’ television markets and NFL+ on a supported mobile phone or tablet. The local CBS arrangement was not a nationwide broadcast, and NFL+ was not the usual living-room television option.
