POPline’s New Black Divas is an Apple Music playlist feature celebrating a new generation of Black women in rap and R&B. In an article published July 1, 2025, POPline said it created the playlist and named artists from Brazil and abroad. That coverage does not establish whether the playlist is currently available or what its track list and order are today.
What is the New Black Divas playlist?
POPline described New Black Divas as a selection highlighting Black women gaining space in rap and R&B in Brazil and internationally. The framing is POPline’s editorial description of the playlist, not an independently measured account of the music industry. The article identified Apple Music as the platform where POPline created it. POPline’s July 1, 2025 article is the primary coverage cited here.

Who is on the New Black Divas playlist?
POPline named these artists as examples in its article:
| Category in POPline’s coverage | Artists named |
|---|---|
| International examples | Tyla, Doechii, Jhené Aiko, and Muni Long |
| Brazilian examples | AJULIACOSTA, Ebony, Duquesa, and the duo Tasha e Tracie |
POPline associated Tyla with amapiano and “Water,” and characterized Doechii in terms of lyrical and visual force, identifying her as a Grammy winner. Its descriptions connected Jhené Aiko with poetry and Muni Long with soul. These are the article’s editorial characterizations; the list above should not be read as confirmation of every artist’s current inclusion in the playlist.

What the artist mix suggests—and what it cannot tell you
The examples span rap and R&B, and pair artists from outside Brazil with Brazilian performers. That makes the playlist’s stated international and Brazilian scope concrete without implying that the examples represent every genre, country, or artist included. POPline’s story does not provide a verified, complete track list or establish the sequence of tracks.
A second article, published by SouNeo on July 27, 2025, also associates New Black Divas with Apple Music and names the same artists. It is corroborating editorial coverage, not an official or independently verified playlist listing: SouNeo’s July 27, 2025 article.
