When does Netflix’s THE ONE PIECE come out?
The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in February 2027. The August 21, 2026 Tudum update does not specify a day, so an exact premiere date has not been announced. The official materials reviewed also give no dates for a next trailer, cast announcement or further production update.
Will the episodes release weekly?
No. Netflix says all seven episodes will be released together, rather than on a weekly schedule. In its August 21 announcement, Netflix Tudum wrote: “All seven episodes will drop at once.”
What story will the first season cover?
This is a new adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga, not a continuation of the long-running television anime. It begins at Chapter 1, at the start of the East Blue saga, and adapts approximately the first 50 chapters. The announced endpoint is Luffy’s encounter with Sanji at the floating restaurant Baratie. Netflix Media Center describes the season’s total runtime as around 300 minutes across seven episodes; that is an approximate season total, not a stated exact runtime for each episode. Who is making the anime?
WIT Studio is animating the series, in collaboration with Shueisha, Toei Animation and Fuji Television Network. Netflix Tudum
The named creative team includes:
- Director: Masashi Koizuka
- Assistant director: Hideaki Abe
- Series composition: Taku Kishimoto
- Character design and chief animation direction: Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda

The announcement establishes the basic shape of the project: a fresh beginning with the East Blue material, a seven-episode season released as one batch, and a defined endpoint at the introduction of Sanji. Netflix Tudum reported in 2026 that the manga had sold more than 600 million copies globally as of March 2026; that figure is attributed here to Tudum, which does not identify an original sales-data publisher.
