Yes—Netflix brought the original Red Dead Redemption to compatible Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad on December 2, 2025. The Netflix Games release includes the single-player campaign, Undead Nightmare and Game of the Year bonus content. It is not Red Dead Redemption 2, and it is included with an active Netflix membership rather than sold as a separate mobile purchase. Rockstar announced the launch; Netflix distributes the mobile edition, while Rockstar created the game.
What the Netflix mobile edition includes
The mobile package brings together the original Red Dead Redemption story and the complete Undead Nightmare standalone story, plus bonus content associated with the Game of the Year Edition. It is a single-player release with mobile-oriented controls and performance adjustments—not a new mobile multiplayer service. The title is the 2010 original, not its sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar announced the mobile version on November 13, 2025, and released it on December 2, 2025. It is an available game, not an upcoming release.
Is it free with Netflix?
There is no separate price for the game if you have an active Netflix membership, but it is more accurate to call it included with Netflix than free. Netflix says its mobile games have no ads, extra fees or in-app purchases. You download the app from an app store and install it on your device; it is not streamed from the Netflix app. Membership plans and availability vary by country. Check Netflix’s signup page for current local plan information rather than relying on a store listing’s price signal.

Which phones and tablets are compatible?

Apple requirements can change by region or app-store update, so check the listing on your device as well as the current US App Store page. For the processor rule, see Rockstar’s iOS device-support guidance. Meeting the operating-system requirement alone is not sufficient if a device has an older processor. On Android, the Google Play listing for Red Dead Redemption NETFLIX is the practical compatibility check; do not assume an OS version or a particular RAM figure guarantees support.
How to download it
Android
- Open Netflix and find Red Dead Redemption in the Mobile Games row or under the Games shortcut.
- Tap Get Game. Netflix will open the Google Play listing.
- Tap Install, then launch the game when installation finishes.
- If asked, sign in with the email and password for your Netflix account and choose the profile you want to use.
You can also search Google Play directly for Red Dead Redemption NETFLIX. Use the official Netflix edition, not an unrelated listing or sideloaded APK.

iPhone or iPad
- Open Netflix and find the game in the Mobile Games row.
- Tap Get Game or Play Game to open its App Store page.
- Tap Get or the cloud-download icon, then open the installed game.
- If prompted, sign in to Netflix and select a profile.
You can also search the App Store for Red Dead Redemption NETFLIX. Netflix’s mobile-game installation guide covers the store handoff and account sign-in.
Internet, storage and playing comfortably
You need an internet connection to download and install the game, and you may be asked to verify your Netflix account. The available guidance does not establish a firm offline-play guarantee for every feature or session, so do not count on uninterrupted offline access without checking the game’s current support information.

The installation needs sufficient free storage, but the verified information does not give one authoritative total that applies to every device and update. Check the store listing and installation prompt, and leave some spare space for downloaded game data and updates. For longer sessions, a demanding 3D game may use battery and produce heat; that can vary with the device, settings and conditions. Touch controls make the game portable, while a compatible physical controller is an optional comfort upgrade, not a documented requirement. A larger tablet screen may be easier for some players to use, but performance and comfort vary by device.

- It is missing from Netflix: Check device compatibility, your app and operating-system updates, regional availability, and the maturity setting on the selected Netflix profile. A restricted profile may not display a mature-rated game; the US App Store listing rates it 18+.
- The store says the device is incompatible: On Apple devices, check both the OS version and processor/model requirements. On Android, use the Google Play compatibility result for that specific device. Updating software cannot make unsupported hardware compatible.
- Installation stalls or the game crashes: Close and reopen it, check the connection, update the game in the app store, restart the device and confirm there is enough free storage. On Android, try Settings > Apps > Red Dead Redemption > Storage and clear the cache or data; menu names vary by manufacturer. Reinstall if needed.
- It asks for an account: Use the credentials for an active Netflix membership, then select an eligible Netflix profile.
Netflix’s guides explain why a game may not appear and provide game troubleshooting steps. If the problem persists after those checks, contact Netflix support.

Is the mobile version the right way to play?
This edition is a natural fit for an existing Netflix subscriber with a compatible device who wants the original game and its expansion on the go. It avoids a separate mobile game purchase, but access is tied to Netflix membership. It is a poor fit if you want Red Dead Redemption 2, multiplayer, a copy independent of Netflix, or a large-screen setup with console controls.
Rockstar also released the game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2, 2025. Those are separate platform editions; the Netflix mobile download does not transfer to PC or console. If you already own a supported console version, you may prefer its display and controller experience. For phones, consider a controller only if you want physical controls and have verified that the particular accessory fits your device and case.
