Where and how was it filmed?
The production followed the jaguar family in and around Encontro das Águas State Park in Brazil’s Pantanal, in the state of Mato Grosso. Netflix says the team spent 46 weeks across 26 expeditions over five years following the family, working with Pantaneiros, researchers and park rangers.
Director Lawrence Wahba said that when he and Mike Bueno began following a jaguar family in 2021, they could not have imagined the story ahead. In his words, nature revealed “an extraordinary story, with charismatic personalities, drama, tragedy, danger, love, and resilience. A truly cinematic tale,” according to Netflix’s announcement.
