What makes the film’s approach unusual?
The reported premise puts unusual access to Holmes’s private household alongside a deliberately unsettled question: how to interpret what is being filmed. The AP describes the documentary’s concerns as truth, identity, performance, fiction, and control. Its three-year production centers on a short stretch before prison, and its reported use of recreations complicates the line between observation and presentation. That description outlines the film’s approach, not a judgment of how effectively it works.
After the New York screening, Fielder told the AP: “I am still struggling to this day to understand what I went through.”
