Irish country singer Nathan Carter said he planned a television documentary about online fraud after fans told him that fake accounts were posing as him. An August 2026 report named production company Alley Cats and said filming was expected the following month, but it did not identify a broadcaster, release date or viewing platform.
What is Nathan Carter’s documentary about?
The planned programme is intended to address online accounts impersonating Carter and the harm fans say they have suffered. In a report published on 12 August 2026, Live95 quoted Carter saying: “We’re contacted daily by people who are getting scammed and thinking that it’s myself they’re chatting to online.” He also said he hoped the television show would help people recognize the dangers. Live95’s report said Alley Cats was the production company and that filming was expected in September 2026.

That report described a plan to film, not a confirmed completed programme or a release announcement. It did not name a final title, broadcaster, streaming service or air date, so where or when viewers can watch remains unestablished.
What has been reported about fans losing money?
EVOKE reported on 28 June 2026 that Carter described a woman in the UK losing €81,000 to someone impersonating him. According to the report, the impersonator sought money connected to work on Carter’s home; the woman’s family contacted Carter’s team, and police were involved. These details are Carter’s account as reported by EVOKE, not independently verified findings in a police or court record. Read EVOKE’s report.

Carter also told EVOKE that he knew of about 10 fans who had lost money to such scams over five or six years. That is his approximate count of cases known to him, not a verified measure of how common celebrity impersonation fraud is. The reported requests included money for supposed projects, such as work on his home or a new album.
How to respond to an account claiming to be Nathan Carter
Carter’s reported guidance is straightforward: do not send money or personal banking information to an account claiming to be him. In EVOKE’s account of his response to the UK case, he said his team stressed that “Nathan will never contact you for money or ask you to send personal bank details.” A separate warning from 2020, reported by VIP Magazine, advised fans to report and block accounts asking for money, vouchers or bank details. - Factory sealed DVD
- Do not pay an account claiming to be Carter for a project, a home-related expense or another personal request.
- Do not provide bank details or vouchers in response to a message from an alleged celebrity account.
- Report and block an account that makes such requests, following the platform’s current reporting options.
A profile picture, familiar name or verification symbol should not be treated as proof on its own. The 2020 report records Carter’s warning at that time; it does not establish a current platform-wide verification standard. If you have already sent money or banking information, contact your bank promptly and report the incident to the relevant authorities in your location.
Carter also described an attempted deception directed at him
In the same June 2026 coverage, Carter recounted nearly sharing bank details with a caller he believed was his network provider. This is an anecdote reported by EVOKE, not a separately documented case, but it illustrates that his warnings encompass deceptive requests beyond fake social-media profiles.
