Perth fashion designer Natalie Couanis, known professionally as Natalie Rolt, announced on 9 May 2025 that she was pregnant and expecting a son with her husband, Ty Couanis. She shared the news with her team while presenting a new collection, then posted videos of the couple guessing their baby’s sex.
How Natalie Rolt announced the pregnancy
In a report published on 9 May 2025, PerthNow said Couanis surprised her team while introducing a new collection. She told them: “I’m excited for this collection because we have all the beautiful colours and all of the styles, but it is also the first collection that I’ll be pregnant with.”
The report also describes a family celebration with her great-grandmother Mimi, who said she had known about the pregnancy for two weeks. The two shared a hug and kiss.
What the couple shared about the baby
After telling her team, Couanis posted a series of Instagram videos showing her and Ty guessing the baby’s sex. PerthNow reported that both had thought they were expecting a girl, but information on her phone indicated they were having a boy. Couanis captioned the post: “Doing life with you is my favourite thing in the entire world.”

Natalie Couanis is the designer behind the Natalie Rolt label, which PerthNow describes as an evening, bridal and resort wear brand. A PerthNow roundup published in December 2020 reported that she and Ty Couanis were engaged after he proposed in Yallingup in September of that year.
