The cast of My So-Called Life reunited at the Television Academy’s Televerse event in August 2026, more than three decades after the ABC drama ended. Several cast members joined the panel, while the actors’ careers since the show have ranged from long-running television and voice roles to occasional screen appearances. Here’s where the principal cast’s work stood in the latest dated roundup, published August 25, 2026.
What brought the cast back together?
The Television Academy held a My So-Called Life reunion at Televerse 26, which ran August 14–16, 2026. The Academy’s announcement named Bess Armstrong, Wilson Cruz, Devon Gummersall, A.J. Langer, Devon Odessa and director and co-executive producer Scott Winant as panelists. Its event recap confirms the reunion took place and names Cruz, Gummersall and Odessa among the participants; creator Winnie Holzman sent a recorded message. Claire Danes and Jared Leto were not among the announced panelists.
The reunion offered a fresh look back at a drama that had a brief original run: ABC canceled the series in May 1995 after 19 episodes, according to the Television Academy. The Academy’s 2026 recap also highlighted Rickie Vasquez’s story. Cruz reflected on the character’s journey of self-acceptance and said he was grateful the series depicted Rickie’s coming-out moment in its final episode.
Where are the main cast members now?
The following career notes come from a cast roundup published August 25, 2026. They are a dated snapshot, not a complete account of each performer’s current schedule or private life.

In a 2024 interview with the Television Academy, Cruz looked back on the significance of Rickie’s story and the chance to show his coming-out moment, even though it became part of the series finale. The Academy framed that scene as a milestone in the character’s arc; neither the Academy nor Cruz’s comments require treating it as an unqualified historical “first.”
Creator Winnie Holzman, reflecting in a 2024 People interview, said the series did not need more than 19 episodes to affect viewers. Her view puts the show’s short run in perspective: its lasting place in conversation did not depend on a long episode count.
