My Hero Academia Season 8 is over. Marketed as FINAL SEASON, it premiered on October 4, 2025, and its regular run is complete. The official guide lists the main season as episodes No.160–170. Later releases, including the bonus episode More and the short I am a hero too, are separate from that regular episode run.
Is My Hero Academia Season 8 still airing?
No. The eighth season is the series’ FINAL SEASON, and the official episode guide lists its main episodes from No.160 through No.170. TheTVDB lists October 4, 2025, as the premiere date; GamesRadar reported the same date, attributing it to the official announcement. The regular season is now complete.
The official guide is the clearest reference for the series’ episode numbering and categories: FINAL SEASON episode guide. The premiere date is also recorded in TheTVDB’s Season 8 listing and in GamesRadar’s report.
What came out after the regular season?
Two later releases are easy to mistake for new Season 8 episodes, but the official site lists them separately from FINAL SEASON.

The official site labels More as No.170+1, placing it outside the main No.160–170 list. TOHO’s July 27, 2026, correction notice says the Japanese FINAL SEASON Vol. 2 Blu-ray/DVD, released May 20, 2026, includes this episode. The official pages do not present it as the start of another regular season run. See the official More page and TOHO’s product notice.
I am a hero too: a separate short
A July 30, 2026, announcement from the official site says the short I am a hero too began streaming on August 3, 2026, at 00:00 on named Japanese subscription services, with temporary free availability through ABEMA and Lemino. Where can you watch Season 8?
Availability depends on your country. Disney+ Japan’s catalog lists Season 8 episodes 1–12 as watchable; those platform labels should not be confused with the official series numbers No.160–170. That listing is specific to Japan and does not establish availability in other territories. Check the catalog in your region before subscribing.
Crunchyroll’s help page explains that its release calendar can show newly released and upcoming episodes and seasons, with a toggle for Premium Episodes and Free New Episodes. It does not confirm that this title is currently available in every country. Use the calendar to check local listings rather than assuming the same catalog worldwide. Can you buy the final season on disc?
A Japanese FINAL SEASON Vol. 2 Blu-ray/DVD release exists. TOHO’s July 27, 2026, correction notice identifies its release date as May 20, 2026, and says it includes No.170+1 More. The listed Japanese product codes are TBR36012D for Blu-ray and TDV36013D for DVD. Before buying, verify the disc’s region compatibility, language and subtitle options, edition, retailer availability, and stock; the notice does not establish what is available from any particular retailer.
