Morgan Wallen returned to Saturday Night Live as musical guest on March 29, 2025, for an episode hosted by Mikey Madison. The “five years after” reference is to his first scheduled booking in 2020: that October 10 appearance was canceled after videos showed him socializing without a mask at crowded Alabama venues during the COVID-19 pandemic. He later performed on the December 5, 2020 episode hosted by Jason Bateman.
When did Morgan Wallen return to SNL?
Wallen was the musical guest on the March 29, 2025 episode, hosted by Mikey Madison. Peacock lists it as Season 50, Episode 16. Peacock’s Season 50 episode listing confirms the host and performer.
This was a return after his December 2020 appearance—not his first time performing on the show. The 2020 episode came after his original October booking was canceled.
Why was his October 2020 booking canceled?
Wallen had been scheduled for the October 10, 2020 episode. The booking was canceled after videos surfaced of him socializing maskless at a crowded bar and house party in Alabama during the pandemic. CBS/AP reported that Wallen apologized publicly and acknowledged that his actions had put the show in jeopardy.

Songs and sketch
Wallen’s official recap says he performed “7 Summers” and “Still Goin Down,” and appeared in a sketch with Bateman, Pete Davidson, and Bowen Yang. The American Federation of Musicians’ NBC settlement document also lists the two songs for the December 5 episode.
