Morgan Joanel is a Perth singer-songwriter whose career has moved from a surprise support slot with Anne-Marie to a three-year break from performing after a serious 2021 hit-and-run. She returned to recording in 2024 and, in April 2026 coverage, was releasing “Undone” and returning to touring.
Who is Morgan Joanel?
Joanel is a Perth singer-songwriter known for building layered arrangements live: her official biography describes her using live-looping with electric and acoustic guitars. The approach lets her create a fuller sound onstage by layering musical parts as she performs. Morgan Joanel’s official biography describes her music and live setup.
How did Morgan Joanel open for Anne-Marie?
Joanel’s own post, dated 11 April 2019, recounts that Anne-Marie saw her performing an acoustic gig in Perth and invited her to open the following night’s Perth show at Metro City. The opportunity came directly from that encounter, rather than from a long-planned support arrangement. Joanel’s 11 April 2019 post tells the story in her words.
What happened to Morgan Joanel after the 2021 hit-and-run?
