It is a mobile puzzle-adventure included with an active Netflix membership, rather than a separately purchased game. Netflix’s stated Games policy adds no advertisements, extra game fees, or in-app purchases. The launch date is historical; in 2026, access still depends on your country, account, profile, device, and the game’s current listing.
What Monument Valley 3 is
Developed by ustwo games, Monument Valley 3 is the third main game in the optical-illusion puzzle series. You play as Noor, an apprentice lightkeeper, while a failing source of light, rising waters, and the danger facing her community drive the story. The game asks you to rotate and manipulate architecture, change perspective, and reveal paths through impossible geometry. Its focus is exploration, environmental storytelling, and touch-based spatial puzzles—not combat or action.
It is a new adventure, not a remaster of the first two games. The original Monument Valley follows Ida, Monument Valley 2 follows Ro and her daughter, and the third game introduces Noor and a different setting. Netflix previously positioned the trilogy together in its Games catalog, although catalog availability can change by country and over time. Netflix’s Gamescom announcement described the third game as arriving for Netflix members on December 10, 2024.
Is Monument Valley 3 free?
There is no standalone purchase price inside Netflix Games. “Included with Netflix” is the accurate description: you need an active Netflix membership, and Netflix authenticates the game with your account. Netflix says its mobile games have no advertisements, separate game fees, or in-app purchases. That does not make the game free independently of Netflix, and installing it does not create permanent ownership outside the subscription.

If the membership ends, the app may remain installed, but playable access is tied to an active membership and the same signed-in account and profile. Netflix’s catalog and game availability may also vary by country.
Where you can play it
The Netflix release is a downloadable mobile game for compatible Android phones and tablets, iPhone, and iPad. It is not the same as Netflix’s separate TV or browser-games programs. Netflix says mobile games are not playable on televisions.

How to install it
Android
- Open the Netflix app and find the Mobile Games row or Games shortcut.
- Select Monument Valley 3 and tap Get Game.
- Netflix opens Google Play; tap Install.
- Open the game, sign in if prompted, and choose the Netflix profile that will hold your save.
You can also search Google Play directly for Monument Valley 3 NETFLIX, then authenticate with Netflix.
iPhone or iPad
- Open Netflix and scroll to Mobile Games.
- Select Monument Valley 3, then tap Get Game or Play Game.
- In the App Store banner, tap Get or the download icon.
- Open the installed game, sign in if requested, and select a Netflix profile.
You may also search for the title directly in Apple’s App Store.

Device and account requirements
- An active Netflix membership and a Netflix profile permitted to access the title.
- A compatible Android phone or tablet, iPhone, or iPad.
- Internet access to download and install the game, plus sufficient storage.
- A profile maturity setting that allows the game to appear.
Netflix’s broad current recommendations are Android 9 or later, iOS 17 or later, and iPadOS 17 or later. Its troubleshooting material gives lower thresholds for some games—Android 8 and iOS/iPadOS 15—but individual titles can require newer software. Treat the game’s current Google Play or App Store listing as the decisive compatibility check rather than assuming a general Netflix minimum guarantees support. The Google Play listing identifies the Netflix membership requirement and lists ustwo games as developer.
Saves, profiles, and subscription access
Progress is associated with the Netflix profile selected in the game. Depending on the title and configuration, Netflix games can use local or cloud saves. Switching profiles can therefore show different progress. Deleting a Netflix profile permanently deletes the progress associated with it, so families should avoid using a profile casually or removing one that contains a save.

Netflix also states that progress from games released previously cannot be transferred to the Netflix version. Do not assume that a save from another store edition or an earlier game will appear here.

- Update the Netflix app and the device operating system.
- Confirm that the device meets the game’s store-listing requirements and has enough storage.
- Check that you are using the correct Netflix account and an appropriate profile maturity setting.
- Look in the mobile app, not the television version of Netflix.
- Check whether the title is available in your country.
- Try a compatible Android or Apple mobile device if the listing remains unavailable.
If the game asks for a Netflix login, that is expected: no separate game account is required. If progress seems missing, verify the selected Netflix profile before reinstalling or changing account details.

What “launches on December 10” means now
Netflix announced pre-registration during 2024 and released Monument Valley 3 on December 10, 2024, exclusively for Netflix members on mobile at launch. In an article updated in 2026, “launches on December 10” is incorrect because that date has passed. The useful current question is whether the game is listed for your local Netflix account and compatible device.
For existing Netflix members who enjoy atmospheric, perspective-based touch puzzles, the Netflix edition is a straightforward way to try Noor’s story without another game purchase. It is a weaker fit for anyone seeking permanent ownership, refusing a subscription, or expecting to play the mobile release on a TV, desktop browser, or console.
Offline play and later editions
Netflix’s general documentation confirms that an internet connection is required for download and installation, but it does not establish a definitive offline-play policy specifically for Monument Valley 3. Check the game’s current support information before relying on it during travel without connectivity.
Any later PC or console edition should be treated as a separate release story. Its platform, date, price, publisher, and save-transfer rules should not be inferred from the December 10, 2024 Netflix mobile launch.
