Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista lead In the Lost Lands, a fantasy-action adaptation directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the filmmaker behind the Resident Evil movies. Jovovich plays sorceress Gray Alys, while Bautista is Boyce, the hunter who accompanies her into a dangerous wilderness. The film is based on a short story by George R. R. Martin.
What is In the Lost Lands about?
A queen sends Gray Alys into the ghostly Lost Lands to seek magical power. Boyce goes with her, and the two face dangers from both people and demons. That spoiler-free premise comes from the distributor’s film synopsis.

The pairing brings Jovovich, known for action roles, together with Bautista as her guide through a fantasy setting. The story centers on their perilous mission rather than a contemporary or documentary-style account.
Who is in the cast, and who made the film?

Is the film based on a George R. R. Martin story?
Yes. In the Lost Lands adapts Martin’s short story of the same name. A newspaper account reports that the story first appeared in the 1982 anthology Amazons II; readers looking for the source text should check the specific edition, since that publication detail does not establish which editions are currently available.
When did In the Lost Lands come out?
The US theatrical date changed before release. Martin’s November 19, 2024 announcement listed February 28, 2025, and his January 8, 2025 update moved the US opening to March 7, 2025. March 7 is the updated US date, not a claim about the release date in every country. Spain’s ICAA catalogue lists the film as a 2025 production.

Where can you watch it?
Disney+ has a catalogue listing for the film that identifies it as a 2025 title, gives a runtime of 1 hour 40 minutes, and labels it R-rated, adventure, fantasy, and action. A catalogue page alone does not establish that the film is currently streamable in every territory; availability depends on market and date.
STUDIOCANAL publicity also announced a Home Premiere for Monday, April 28, but the surfaced announcement does not establish the year or territory. It is therefore not enough to determine present home-viewing availability.
