It opens with Warden Nina Hobbs dealing with the fallout from a hijacked cartel shipment and Callahan’s disappearance. Mike visits Bunny in the hospital. Bunny wants revenge and says he trusts Mike most. He also recalls being dead on the operating table for 67 seconds and seeing neither a light nor family waiting for him. That is Bunny’s account in the episode, not an independently verified medical statistic.

The season announcement describes Mike’s control of Kingstown as threatened by new players competing to fill the vacuum left by the Russians, alongside a gang war and a new, headstrong warden. “Belleville” makes the stakes personal: Callahan’s campaign reaches Mike’s home and Kyle’s family, not just the prison and the city’s power struggle.
