Mickey Rourke publicly rejected a GoFundMe campaign created in his name on January 5, 2026, saying he had not known about it, did not want donations and wanted contributors to seek refunds. His manager, Kimberly Hines, gave a conflicting account, saying she and her assistant created the page and believed Rourke had approved it. The available reports do not independently resolve whether he authorized the fundraiser.
What Mickey Rourke said about the GoFundMe
In an Instagram video posted January 5, Rourke said the fundraiser was not his idea and that he had not known about it. The campaign was described as intended to help with housing costs. He said he did not want fans to donate and urged people who had contributed to seek their money back.

Explaining that he would not ask fans for charity, Rourke said: “I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.” The reported line was a violent metaphor in the context of rejecting the idea of asking fans for money; it is not evidence of an actual threat or self-harm plan. Who created the fundraiser, and did Rourke approve it?
The accounts conflict. Rourke said he did not know about the campaign and that it was not his idea. His longtime manager, Kimberly Hines, told reporters that she and her assistant had created the page and believed he had approved it. The reports document those opposing accounts, but do not establish independently whether Rourke gave authorization. Rourke’s statement; Hines’s account

What was reported about donations and refunds?
January coverage put the campaign total at roughly $100,000. That is a reported snapshot from that period, not a current balance. GoFundMe reportedly said refunds were issued on January 14, 2026; that statement does not confirm that every donor received money. A January 16 People report said $90,000 remained to be refunded, while a later January 19 report added a different allegation about the fundraiser. These dated figures do not establish a definitive final refund total or an individual donor’s current status. Campaign and refund reporting; January 16 and 19 coverage
Rourke’s later allegation about an employee
On January 19, TMZ reported that Rourke alleged an employee had set up the fundraiser to keep the money for herself. That is Rourke’s allegation, not an independently established finding. TMZ’s report

How the housing dispute fits in
Later coverage in March discussed eviction proceedings and the landlord’s position in a separate housing dispute. Reports attributed about $59,100 in unpaid rent to the allegation; the amount and claim should be understood as reported assertions, not as facts established by the fundraiser coverage. The available material here does not independently verify court records or establish the current status of the proceedings. March housing coverage
