What Michael Richards has said about privacy
Richards, best known for playing Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld, has offered a direct explanation for why he is rarely in the public eye. In a 2024 conversation with Jay Leno for Interview Magazine, he said: “I don’t get out much. I’m a very private man. The book has been my way of coming out and saying hello.” He described his memoir as a written account for fans and family, rather than presenting privacy as a consequence of his wealth.

That memoir, Entrances and Exits, draws on journals Richards kept over roughly four decades, according to a 2024 Forbes interview. Simon & Schuster lists the book in hardcover on its official author page.
Who is in Richards’s family?
Simon & Schuster’s biography says Richards lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son. In a June 2024 AARP interview, Richards discussed his son Antonio; the interview identifies his wife as Beth Skipp. In the Jay Leno conversation, Richards also referred to his adult daughter. Those accounts support describing him as a husband and father, but they do not make every detail of his family life public.

Older profiles have sometimes caused confusion about his relationships. A 2013 Los Angeles Times correction identified Beth Skipp as Richards’s wife and Ann Talman as an ex-girlfriend.
How much did Michael Richards make from Seinfeld?
No reliable source cited here gives Richards’s personal Seinfeld salary, total earnings, residual income or net worth. In the 2024 Interview Magazine conversation, Richards agreed when Leno said he had financial security. The exchange gives no amount and does not attribute that security to Seinfeld.

So claims that Richards’s private lifestyle is “thanks to all of his Seinfeld money” go beyond what the documented comments show. Descriptions of Richards’s home and personal possessions need to account for a major later event. A 2026 Atlanta Journal-Constitution report says a fire destroyed his home and personal collection, including rare books and Seinfeld memorabilia. Richards is rebuilding; he told the newspaper, “I am fascinated by the idea of restoration and rebuilding as I rebuild my home.” The report documents a loss and rebuilding effort, not his current wealth.
