Who were Michael Madsen’s children?
Madsen’s six children were Jessica, Christian, Max, Hudson, Kalvin, and Luke. The family links are important to the count: Jessica was born from an earlier relationship with Dana Mechling, Christian and Max were sons with Bisignano, and Hudson, Kalvin, and Luke were sons with DeAnna.
The Guardian also listed Cody as Madsen’s stepson among his survivors. That identification is separate from the six children; the published account does not establish further details about Cody’s age, parentage, or family timeline.

Hudson Madsen’s death
Hudson, Michael and DeAnna’s son, died by suicide in January 2022 at age 26, The Guardian reported. The Associated Press also noted his death in its 2025 obituary. Public accounts do not establish private circumstances beyond those reported facts, so they should not be used to speculate about blame or the family’s experience.
What is known about Madsen and DeAnna’s relationship in 2024?
Reports from 2024 describe events at different points in time and should not be collapsed into a single account of the couple’s status. In August 2024, DeAnna told the Los Angeles Times that they shared their Malibu home and were not separated. She said an attorney quoted in connection with the incident did not speak for her or the family in that matter.

The Associated Press later reported that Madsen filed for divorce in 2024 and asked to dismiss the filing weeks afterward. AP also reported that he was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery that year but was not charged. These dated reports do not, by themselves, settle the couple’s private or legal status at the time of his death.

The reported family structure is clear: three marriages, six children, and one stepson identified in The Guardian’s survivor list. The sources give a specific divorce timeline for LaPiere and dates for Madsen’s marriage to Bisignano, but they do not establish every marriage’s legal end date or all private family details. The Guardian’s 2004 interview describes a custody battle involving Bisignano as historical context; it does not justify adding unreported details.
