Michael Madsen, the actor known for playing Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs and Budd in the Kill Bill films, died July 3, 2025, at his home in Malibu. He was 67. His representatives confirmed his death.
What was reported about Michael Madsen’s death?
The Associated Press reported that Madsen was found unresponsive at his Malibu home on the morning of July 3 and was pronounced dead. Citing Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Watch Commander Christopher Jauregui, AP said authorities believed the death was from natural causes and did not suspect foul play. Madsen’s manager described cardiac arrest as the apparent cause; ABC News attributed the same reported cause to publicist Liz Rodriguez. These were reports at the time of his death, not a later medical-examiner determination.
The Associated Press report and ABC News’ account both reported his death on July 3, 2025.
Which roles made him widely known?
Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs
Madsen played Vic “Mr. Blonde” Vega in Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 crime film Reservoir Dogs. The part became a defining role, including a much-discussed dance scene. In a 2017 interview with ABC News, Madsen said, “I had a great director and I had a great script.”
