Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited Colombia from August 15 to 18, 2024, at the invitation of Vice President and Equality Minister Francia Elena Márquez Mina. Their itinerary covered Bogotá, Cartagena, San Basilio de Palenque and Cali, combining cultural events with discussions of online safety, youth opportunity, mental health and women’s economic autonomy.
No official body has ranked the trip’s photographs. The selection below is therefore a captioned guide to the most representative scenes, organized by place, subject and image provenance rather than by an objective “best” list.
What the Colombia trip was about
The visit focused on the risks and possibilities of digital technology, including cyberbullying and online exploitation, while also highlighting Colombian cultural diversity, Afro-Colombian heritage, youth and women’s participation in society. The Vice Presidency says Harry and Meghan paid for their own travel and staff; Colombian authorities provided technical requirements, mobility and participant support. That is the Colombian government’s account.
At the Responsible Digital Future forum, Márquez said: “La tecnología tiene el poder de transformar, pero también de dividir. Debemos asegurarnos de que sea una fuerza para el bien, especialmente para aquellos que históricamente han sido marginados”.

August 15: Bogotá welcome and arts programming
The official program began at Colegio Cultura Popular, where the couple spoke with students and teachers about responsible technology. A Getty handout image records their welcome at Márquez’s official residence, while another Getty listing shows the folkloric presentation at Centro Nacional de las Artes Delia Zapata Olivella.
- Official residence welcome: the clearest arrival image, with Márquez greeting the couple in Bogotá.
- School visit: photographs from Colegio Cultura Popular place the online-safety theme in a youth and classroom setting.
- Folkloric performance: the Delia Zapata Olivella images emphasize dance, music and Colombian cultural expression rather than protocol.
August 15: Responsible Digital Future forum
At Universidad EAN, the Vice Presidency, Luminate and the Archewell Foundation convened the Responsible Digital Future forum. Images from this event are useful for explaining the visit’s policy focus: safer platforms, protection from exploitation and the effects of online abuse.

August 16–17: Palenque, Cartagena and Invictus training
The Caribbean portion of the itinerary included San Basilio de Palenque and Cartagena. A Harper’s Bazaar gallery includes a training-session photograph with Invictus Games Team Colombia, showing the trip’s rehabilitation and adaptive-sport dimension. The Archewell Foundation’s 2023–2024 impact report includes a Cartagena drum-school photograph, which provides a community-centered counterpoint to the formal events.
- Invictus Games Team Colombia: the strongest sports image in the published coverage, centered on recovery, service and adaptive competition.
- Cartagena drum school: a culture-focused frame linking the visit to music education and local participation.
- San Basilio de Palenque: images from the cultural programming foreground Afro-Colombian history and living traditions.
August 18: Cali and the closing program
The final day brought the couple to Cali. The Vice Presidency’s retrospective places the city among the destinations and connects the closing engagements to Afro-Colombian culture, youth, women and digital-safety concerns. Use the official recap for date and location captions; it does not establish a complete ranking or total number of photographs.
