How old are Hazel and Violet?
Published ages are dated snapshots, not current ages. Access reported Hazel as 11 and Violet as 9 when the family attended the U.S. Open men’s singles final on September 7, 2025 (Access). An Associated Press story about Krasinski and IF in 2024 described the girls as 10 and 7 (Associated Press). TIME reported in 2018 that the younger daughter was three weeks old when Krasinski read an early draft of A Quiet Place (TIME).
These reports do not establish exact birth dates, so they should not be used to calculate precise ages today.

Why have the parents kept family life private?
In a May 25, 2021 ABC News report summarizing an interview with The Sunday Times, Blunt said she and Krasinski did not discuss their careers around their daughters. She explained: “I don’t want my kids to feel any more important or special or that there’s a glare on them any more than other kids.” She added, “If they can remain oblivious for the longest time, I’d be thrilled” (ABC News).
ABC reported that Hazel had asked whether Blunt was famous after hearing the word from someone at school. Blunt said the family had not used that word at home. Her comments describe the couple’s approach to their own family; they do not provide a basis for conclusions about the girls’ schooling or daily lives.
How have Hazel and Violet influenced their parents’ work?
IF and imaginative play
In a 2024 Associated Press interview, Krasinski said the idea for IF evolved with his children. “My kids are extremely imaginative,” he said, recalling that he told Blunt, “I just, I wish we could go wherever it is they go, just for a little bit.” He also described planning “a little family premiere.” AP reported that he was especially interested in how his daughters would respond: “I’ve never been worried about two reviews more in my life.” These remarks concern his inspiration and his family’s planned viewing; they do not mean the girls appeared in or endorsed the film (Associated Press).
A Quiet Place and parenting
In a 2018 TIME interview about A Quiet Place, Blunt said the film’s focus on parental fears felt close to her experience as a mother of young children: “It sounds like a strange draw, to live out my deepest fears as a mother with two young kids,” she said, then added, “But this was very close to home for me” (TIME).

What is publicly known—and what is not
The available reporting establishes the daughters’ names, time-specific age descriptions, and a handful of their parents’ public comments. It does not establish exact birth dates or support claims about private details such as the girls’ address, school, routines, or personal social accounts.
