Where MaXXXine fits in the trilogy
MaXXXine follows X and Pearl in Ti West’s connected horror story world, with Goth returning as Maxine. A24’s trailer establishes that relationship, but the official material cited here does not prescribe a viewing order. The films’ release sequence is X, Pearl, then MaXXXine; that is a release sequence, not an official recommended watch order.
What the story is about
Set in 1980s Hollywood, the film follows Maxine Minx after her adult-film work as she pursues the opportunity to become an actress. That premise is described on A24’s film page and in Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement. The trailer’s title and setting place Maxine’s ambition at the center; the available official descriptions do not establish a more detailed plot summary.
