In Brazil, Mercado Livre’s current Max offer lists 30% off for Meli+ Total customers and a 15% discount for users without that higher Meli+ benefit. Based on the offer page’s R$29.90 reference price, those discounts work out to about R$20.93 and R$25.42 per month, respectively. They are calculated equivalents, not guaranteed prices: check the amount and Max plan shown in your signed-in account before paying. Meli+ Mega is a separate option that lists HBO Max among its included streaming services.
What does Max cost through Mercado Livre?
Mercado Livre’s Brazilian Max offer page shows a R$29.90 monthly reference price, a 15% discount for users without the higher Meli+ benefit, and 30% off for Meli+ Total customers. The equivalents below are calculated from that displayed reference price; Mercado Livre says the final amount depends on the option selected and is shown before payment.
| Account or plan | Benefit shown | Approximate monthly equivalent | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meli+ Total | 30% off Max | R$20.93, calculated from R$29.90 | The qualifying Max plan and final checkout price |
| No higher Meli+ benefit | 15% off the displayed offer | R$25.42, calculated from R$29.90 | That the offer appears for your account and the final checkout price |
| Meli+ Mega | HBO Max is listed among the bundle’s included services | Not a separate Max price; compare the Mega price displayed for your account | Included service tier, package terms and Mega price |
These figures are tied to the offer page’s R$29.90 reference and can change if Mercado Livre changes its prices, eligibility or offer. The Meli+ benefits page says the amount depends on selected options and is shown before payment. Use that checkout amount, rather than a calculation, to decide.
Which Meli+ plan qualifies?
Meli+ Total: the stated 30% Max discount
The current Max offer page specifically names Meli+ Total for the 30% discount. It does not establish that Meli+ Essencial receives the same benefit. Sign in to the Mercado Livre account you plan to use and confirm the discount is actually applied before subscribing.

Meli+ Mega: streaming included in a bundle
Mercado Livre’s Meli+ page lists Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and Apple TV among Mega’s included services. That is a bundle, not the same thing as a standalone Max discount. Compare Mega’s account-specific price with the individual services you would actually use, and check the included tiers and any advertising before changing plans.
Choose based on the whole package
Meli+ Total is more compelling if you already value its shopping, shipping or other benefits as well as the Max discount. If you want only Max, compare the Mercado Livre checkout price with direct Max billing and account for the full Meli+ cost. Mega may suit a household that will use several included services, but can be poor value if Max is the only one you want.

How to subscribe and activate Max
- Sign in to the intended Mercado Livre account and open the Max subscription page.
- Check the account’s Meli+ plan and confirm the discount and final monthly charge shown for the selected Max option. Do not proceed if the expected benefit or price is missing.
- Select the available plan, review the recurring charge and payment method, then complete the purchase if the terms suit you.
- Open the Max app and use its provider-connection or provider-identification option. Select Mercado Livre and follow the prompts to link or identify the Max account you want to use.
Max’s provider activation instructions confirm that a Mercado Livre subscription must be activated in the Max app through the provider-connection process before first access. Mercado Livre’s flow may use “HBO Max” while Max’s help pages use “Max”; follow the service and provider labels displayed on your screen.
Can you keep an existing Max account?
Mercado Livre says you can link an existing Max account during activation, including one with a different email address from your Mercado Livre account. Follow the linking prompt rather than automatically creating another Max account.

Account linking is different from moving an active subscription’s billing. If Max is currently billed directly or through a mobile, internet, TV, app-store or other provider, check who collects the payment and resolve that subscription before starting another one. Mercado Livre warns that a previous subscription may cause duplicate charges. Max explains how to identify your billing provider; a subscription billed by another provider may need to be canceled with that provider separately.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the discount temporary, and what if Meli+ changes?
The current offer page describes the Meli+ Total price as a discounted price, not as a short introductory period. That does not guarantee the amount or eligibility forever: Mercado Livre can change prices or terms. An older “Promoção Especial MAX” offered qualifying Meli+ Total customers 50% off for four months, but its listed campaign ended in September 2025. It is not evidence of the current offer; the historical terms are on Mercado Livre’s legal terms page.

The 30% benefit is explicitly associated with Total, while Mega lists Max as a bundled service. Moving from Total to Essencial may remove the higher discount; moving to Mega may change the arrangement to bundled access. The available terms do not establish a complete plan-change or account-linking outcome for every case. Before changing plans or canceling Meli+, read the benefit and price summary shown in your account. Historical promotion terms tied an exclusive discount to continued Total membership, so do not assume a current Max discount survives a plan change.
How to cancel and avoid billing surprises
The Mercado Livre Max offer renews monthly and can be canceled at any time. Because Mercado Livre is the billing provider for a subscription bought through its offer, manage cancellation through Mercado Livre or Mercado Pago rather than assuming Max’s direct billing settings control it. If an older Max subscription is billed by a different provider, cancel that one with its billing provider as needed.
- Before confirming a new subscription, identify any active Max billing arrangement and check whether it will continue alongside Mercado Livre billing.
- Before canceling Meli+ Total, check the account’s current Max terms and cancellation notice for the effect on the discount.
- Before confirming a plan change, verify the resulting Max access, price and billing arrangement in the account.
Troubleshoot a missing discount or activation problem
The 30% discount is not shown
- Check that you are signed in to the Mercado Livre account with Meli+ Total, not another account or Meli+ Essencial.
- Open the offer from inside the signed-in Mercado Livre account and review the selected Max option; the available evidence does not show that every tier qualifies.
- If the price still differs, do not complete the purchase expecting a later adjustment. Recheck the account’s offer terms and contact Mercado Livre support with a screenshot of the price screen.
Max does not recognize the subscription
Use the provider-connection flow in the Max app and select Mercado Livre. If prompted to link an account, use the existing Max account you intend to keep—even if its email differs from the Mercado Livre login. Check that you completed the provider activation rather than only purchasing the offer.
You see two charges
Identify each charge’s billing provider, then contact the provider responsible for the old subscription to cancel or resolve it. A new Mercado Livre subscription does not necessarily cancel a direct or third-party Max subscription automatically.
