Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 has already premiered. It began in Japan on January 6, 2024, and arrived internationally on Crunchyroll on January 7, 2024, with availability dependent on territory. The season adapts the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc and continues Mash Burnedead’s fight to succeed in a society where magic is everything—even though he cannot use it.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 is no longer an upcoming release. It premiered in Japan on January 6, 2024, and became available internationally through Crunchyroll from January 7, 2024, subject to regional licensing. The season adapts the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc, continuing Mash Burnedead’s attempt to rise through a magic-based society despite having no magic of his own.
When did Mashle: Magic and Muscles Season 2 release?
The original confirmation came in 2023, when Aniplex USA announced that the anime would return with the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc in January 2024. The Japanese production later confirmed the broadcast date: January 6, 2024, at 23:30 JST on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and other Japanese stations. The announcement can be seen in Aniplex USA’s Season 2 confirmation video.
For viewers outside Japan, Crunchyroll listed the international streaming release as January 7, 2024. The one-day difference reflects the relationship between the Japanese television broadcast, time zones, and the platform’s regional release schedule—not a separate production delay.

Where can you watch Season 2?
The official Crunchyroll release guide listed Season 2 for viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS territories. However, streaming rights can change by country and over time. A title’s presence on the service in one territory does not guarantee access in another, so check the current Mashle series page on Crunchyroll for your location.
Watch Mashle Season 2 on Crunchyroll if the series is currently licensed in your region. Crunchyroll’s listing has included the anime with subtitles and multiple dubbed-language options, but the exact audio, subtitle, and availability choices may vary by territory.
What is Season 2 about?
Season 2 follows Mash after the first season’s conflicts at Easton Magic Academy. In the world of Mashle, magical ability determines social status, education, and personal opportunity. Mash is an anomaly: he cannot use magic, but his extraordinary physical strength allows him to compete with students and opponents who rely on spells.
Rank #2
The season’s central storyline is the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc. Mash’s goal is to become a Divine Visionary—the highest kind of official standing available to talented magic users—so that he can protect his place in society and continue living with his adoptive father. The exam places him alongside powerful candidates and pushes the show’s central contrast further: formal magical technique versus Mash’s absurdly effective physical solutions.

Cast and production
Mashle: Magic and Muscles is based on Hajime Komoto’s manga. A-1 Pictures produced the animation, with Chiaki Kobayashi leading the Japanese voice cast as Mash Burnedead.
For the English dub, Crunchyroll announced the first dubbed Season 2 episode for March 23, 2024. The English cast includes Aleks Le as Mash, alongside Stephen Fu, Brian Anderson, Anjali Kunapaneni, Ben Diskin, and Ray Chase in principal roles. Dubbed-language schedules can differ from the subtitled simulcast and may also vary by territory.
How to read the Mashle manga
Readers who want the source material can read the Mashle manga from the beginning through VIZ. VIZ identifies Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Vol. 1 as an English paperback and digital release by Hajime Komoto, with the paperback originally published on July 20, 2021. The catalog lists the series through Volume 18, which is identified as the final volume.
Starting with Volume 1 is the safest option for anyone who wants the complete story rather than only the material adapted in the anime. The anime and manga are different formats, and an exact post-Season 2 chapter or volume starting point should not be assumed without a verified episode-to-chapter guide.
Is Season 2 still “coming soon”?
No. That wording is now outdated. Season 2 was confirmed for January 2024, broadcast in Japan beginning January 6, and released internationally beginning January 7. Articles or listings that still describe it as “upcoming” are reflecting the earlier announcement rather than the current status.

The franchise has also moved beyond Season 2: later official franchise information announced a third television season for 2027. That is separate from Season 2’s completed release and should not be confused with a new Season 2 release window.
