Marvel’s three flagship X-Men: From the Ashes series are X-Men, Uncanny X-Men and Exceptional X-Men. They are ongoing series, not three standalone issues; each has its own creative team and focus. The 2024 reveal followed the fall of Krakoa, and the books have since begun publication.
What Marvel announced
On April 9, 2024, Marvel revealed the three flagship team books for From the Ashes, an X-Men publishing era following the fall of Krakoa. The initiative also included other mutant titles, so “three new series” refers to this flagship trio—not the entire line. Marvel’s announcement introduced the books as having distinct missions for mutants in a world that fears them. Marvel’s announcement also discussed X-Force and mentioned Phoenix and NYX; a later September titles announcement covered a wider slate, including Exceptional X-Men, Dazzler and Wolverine.

Are these three issues or three series?
They are three separate series. A number such as “#1” identifies the first issue of a series; it does not mean the whole series is a single issue. Each title has its own creative team, characters and storyline.

When did the first issues come out?
The reveal is now historical, rather than a preview of upcoming launches. X-Men (2024) #1 was published July 10, 2024, according to Marvel’s issue listing. Exceptional X-Men (2024) #1 followed on September 4, 2024, per its official issue page. The April announcement established the trio; Marvel’s June coverage of September titles reflected the broader slate and later launch timing for Exceptional X-Men.

Choose by the characters and kind of story that appeal to you: Cyclops and a mission-focused team in Alaska point to X-Men; Rogue’s New Orleans-based outlaw team points to Uncanny X-Men; Kate Pryde’s uneasy return to mutant mentorship points to Exceptional X-Men. These are distinct entry points in the announced line, rather than three parts of one single issue.
