Marc Blucas and Ryan Haddon were associated with a rural Pennsylvania property where Blucas had publicly discussed restoring a 1711 farmhouse. On December 27, 2024, Ryan’s mother, Dayle Haddon, died at the property after police said a faulty gas-heating-system flue and exhaust pipe caused a carbon-monoxide leak.

Marc Blucas and his wife, Ryan Haddon, were associated with a rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania, property where Blucas had publicly discussed restoring a farmhouse built in 1711. Dayle Haddon—Ryan Haddon’s mother and Blucas’s mother-in-law—died at the property on December 27, 2024, after police said a faulty flue and exhaust pipe connected to a gas heating system caused a carbon-monoxide leak.

The property’s renovation history and the circumstances of Haddon’s death have sometimes been compressed into a misleading description of a celebrity “old house.” The available reporting supports a more precise account: Blucas discussed restoring a historic Pennsylvania farmhouse, while police described the emergency as occurring in a detached office or in-law suite on the broader property. The sources do not establish that Haddon died inside the principal farmhouse itself.

Blucas’s 1711 farmhouse restoration

In a November 15, 2016, appearance listed by Hallmark’s Home & Family, Marc Blucas was identified as restoring a 1711 Pennsylvania farmhouse with his family. The interview focused on the age of the home, its historic stone construction and the appeal of renovating an old property.

Blucas explained that the family had moved back to the East Coast to be closer to relatives. Pennsylvania also offered the kind of historic buildings he found compelling: old stone houses, barns and properties that could be repaired and preserved. He described renovation as a creative outlet when he was not acting.

Contemporaneous coverage said the family initially lived in a guest house while work on the main house continued. Later entertainment reports also described the project as an effort to restore a roughly 310-year-old farmhouse and preserve historic buildings. Those reports drew on earlier public comments and social-media material; the exact wording of any original post should not be treated as independently verified here.

The public record does not document every stage of the renovation, identify all contractors or establish that Blucas personally performed every repair. Nor does the reporting reviewed establish whether the restoration was complete, who currently occupies the property or whether ownership has changed.

What happened at the Pennsylvania property?

On Friday, December 27, 2024, emergency responders were called to the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road in Solebury Township, Bucks County, after a report that a man had collapsed.

According to the Solebury Township Police Department, firefighters detected a high level of carbon monoxide at the property. A 76-year-old woman was found dead in an upstairs bedroom. Police later identified her as Dayle Haddon. The man found unconscious was identified as Walter J. Blucas, also 76.

Police said Walter Blucas was hospitalized in critical condition. Two medics and one police officer were also treated for carbon-monoxide exposure.

In an update issued December 28, police said their investigation indicated that a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system caused the carbon-monoxide leak. That official account is more authoritative than early reports that described the poisoning only as suspected or had not yet identified the victims.

The farmhouse and the detached living space are not necessarily the same building

News coverage following Haddon’s death connected the incident to the Bucks County home that Blucas had discussed renovating. However, the police account referred to a detached office or in-law suite and described Haddon as being found in an upstairs bedroom. Because the property appears to include multiple structures, it is not responsible to state categorically that she died in the main 1711 farmhouse.

The careful version is that Haddon died at the rural property associated with Ryan Haddon and Marc Blucas, where Blucas had publicly discussed restoring a historic farmhouse. The available sources do not provide enough detail to identify the exact relationship between the main farmhouse, the detached suite and the room where Haddon was found.

Carbon-monoxide safety after a heating-system leak

Homeowners should not try to diagnose a suspected flue or exhaust problem themselves. If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds or people in the home develop symptoms such as headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, chest pain or confusion, leave immediately, call emergency services from outside and do not re-enter until professionals say it is safe. Heating, boiler, chimney and flue work should be handled by appropriately qualified professionals.

What is confirmed—and what remains unknown

Confirmed by the available reporting Not established by the sources reviewed
Dayle Haddon died on December 27, 2024, at age 76. That she died inside the principal 1711 farmhouse.
The incident occurred at a Solebury Township property associated with Ryan Haddon and Marc Blucas. The property’s current ownership, occupancy or renovation status.
Marc Blucas publicly discussed restoring a Pennsylvania farmhouse built in 1711. That Blucas performed every renovation task himself.
Police attributed the leak to a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system. Whether detectors were installed, whether maintenance had been performed or whether anyone was legally responsible.
Walter J. Blucas was found unconscious and hospitalized after the incident. Additional conclusions about the incident beyond the police account.

The story therefore joins two documented parts of the property’s history: a long-running restoration project that Blucas discussed publicly, and a fatal 2024 carbon-monoxide incident that police linked to a gas heating-system failure. It should not be expanded into claims about negligence, criminal conduct or the exact condition of the historic farmhouse without further evidence.
