There is no single lesson sequence that applies to every Philippine school: use your teacher’s assigned module or learning sheet to confirm which topics and competencies are included.
Start with your assigned Quarter 3 materials
The DepEd Learning Resource Portal indexes Grade 10 Quarter 3 modules and learning sheets for Music and Arts, but the index alone does not reveal the full content of each module. A separate school-hosted page gives one local example: Weeks 1–2 combine Music and Arts under “Contemporary Philippine Music,” Week 5 Arts is “Media-Based Arts and Design in the Philippines,” and Week 6 Music is “Contemporary Philippine Music.” That is one school’s sequence, not a nationwide schedule.
Check your teacher’s current module, learning sheet, or scope before treating any topic below as part of your own quarter. A school resource index can also help locate materials, but it does not establish the sequence used by every division or school.

Music: what to review when it appears in your competencies
DepEd’s Grade 10 Music competency record covers several topics and skills across the course. It is useful for building a review plan, but it does not establish that every listed competency belongs to Quarter 3. Check your assigned module to identify which apply.

Listen, describe, and connect music to context
- Listen perceptively to the works named in your lesson and describe what you hear, including relevant musical elements and style.
- Describe traditional and new music, and relate works to their historical and cultural backgrounds.
- When comparing two works, use the same points of comparison for each: musical elements and style, historical and cultural context, and performance choices.
Perform, create, and evaluate
- Practise singing with suitable pitch, rhythm, style, and expression when singing is part of the assigned task.
- Explore sound from varied sources and improvise a simple accompaniment if your lesson asks you to create or support music.
- Evaluate a piece or performance using musical elements and style. Give a reason for your judgment by pointing to something audible or a performance choice, rather than relying on “I like it” alone.
- Some listed competencies include creating a musical about a selected contemporary Philippine composer. Treat this as a review target only if it appears in your current lesson.
The competency record also includes twentieth-century music, Afro-Latin American and popular music, and musical plays. Their presence in the broader Grade 10 record does not by itself confirm Quarter 3 placement. DepEd Learning Portal: Grade 10 Music competency record
Arts: approach the media-based arts topic carefully
One locally indexed Grade 10 Arts topic is “Media-Based Arts and Design in the Philippines.” The available index does not provide enough detail to establish its subtopics, required techniques, or assessment criteria. Use the Arts module or learning sheet assigned by your teacher for those specifics rather than assuming a particular project or set of media.

As you review, note the exact concepts, examples, and task criteria named in your own material. If an instruction or assessment requirement is unclear, ask your teacher to clarify it before planning the work.
A practical review routine
- Confirm the scope: write down the Music and Arts topics, competencies, and activities in your assigned Quarter 3 materials.
- Sort your notes by task: separate listening and description, context, performance, creation or accompaniment, evaluation, and Arts concepts that your materials actually include.
- Practise with evidence: for a Music comparison or evaluation, identify the musical feature or performance choice that supports each point you make.
- Check the task criteria: use the instructions in your own learning sheet or module for any performance, musical, or Arts output.
- Resolve gaps locally: take questions about sequence, terminology, or assessment expectations to your teacher, since the indexed resources do not settle every school’s scope.

The listed resources point learners to DepEd modules and learning sheets. They do not establish that a particular book, instrument, or art supply is necessary for this review. Follow your teacher’s instructions about materials for a specific assigned activity.
