Magnolia Pictures and its sister company Spotlight Cinema Networks launched CineLife on TiVo+ on January 20, 2022. CineLife was introduced as a dedicated, ad-supported linear channel for independent films and documentaries from Magnolia’s catalog—not as a complete on-demand library. Some TiVo+ and cable-provider lineups still list the channel in 2026, but availability, channel numbers and schedules vary by device, provider and location.
What the Magnolia–TiVo announcement actually covered
The partnership put CineLife inside TiVo+, TiVo’s free, advertising-supported streaming environment. Spotlight Cinema Networks, a Magnolia sister company, was also involved. The service was designed as a scheduled television channel carrying independent cinema and documentaries, with new titles expected to be added monthly.
Xperi later confirmed in its fourth-quarter 2021 results that CineLife had been added to both TiVo Stream 4K and TiVo+. The original announcement was dated January 20, 2022, so it should be understood as a historical launch rather than a new 2026 service.

CineLife’s launch description covered a mix of dramas, action films, comedies, international films and documentaries drawn from Magnolia’s “expansive” catalog. That wording does not mean every Magnolia title was included.

These are examples reported for the launch period, not a current CineLife schedule. FAST-channel programming rotates, and a film’s appearance on CineLife does not establish that it remains there or is available through Magnolia’s own services.

How TiVo+ works
TiVo describes TiVo+ as a free service with live channels and on-demand programming from multiple partners. It is not a paid subscription video-on-demand service such as Netflix or Max. “Free” refers to the TiVo+ programming; viewers may still need compatible equipment, a supported TiVo experience or a participating television provider.
TiVo’s current product information lists TiVo Stream 4K, TiVo BOLT VOX, TiVo EDGE and TiVo DVRs using the latest TiVo experience among the products that can access TiVo+. Check the current requirements at TiVo’s TiVo+ page because product support can change.
Linear channel versus on-demand viewing
CineLife was launched as a linear channel, meaning programs run on a schedule and viewers tune in to what is airing. TiVo+ as a whole now includes on-demand material, but that does not guarantee an on-demand catalog for CineLife itself. Provider documentation also notes that TiVo+ live feeds may not support features such as start-over, look-back or cloud DVR.

How to check whether CineLife is available
- Open the live-guide or TiVo+ section on a supported TiVo product or TiVo-enabled provider service.
- Search the guide for “CineLife” rather than relying on a channel number from another market.
- If you use cable-provider TiVo, check that provider’s current TiVo+ lineup and service area.
- Confirm the listing’s date and schedule; a provider can add, remove or renumber a channel.
Provider listings show why a single national channel number would be misleading. CTC’s lineup has listed CineLife as channel 9008 or 9028 in different contexts, while other providers use different numbering. CTC’s lineup, HTC’s TV page, FOCUS Broadband’s TiVo information and a 2026 Blue Stream Fiber lineup PDF demonstrate provider-specific carriage, not nationwide access. HTC also states that TiVo+ lineups are subject to change.

Some provider-published TiVo+ grids crawled or issued in 2026 continue to list CineLife, including the Blue Stream Fiber document above. That is evidence of ongoing carriage in particular systems, not proof that every TiVo owner, TiVo app user or U.S. household can receive it. Geography, hardware, software version and provider agreements all matter.
Availability on another free streaming service is a separate issue. Magnolia has pursued additional catalog-distribution partnerships, including deals associated with Vizio WatchFree+ and Xumo, but those arrangements should not be treated as part of the TiVo+ launch without a specific announcement. What CineLife is—and is not
- It is: a branded, scheduled film channel built from selected Magnolia Pictures library titles.
- It is not: the complete Magnolia catalog or a promise that every launch film remains available.
- It is not necessarily: an unrestricted on-demand service where any listed film can be started at any time.
- It is not: evidence of an exclusive Magnolia–TiVo arrangement; no exclusivity, audience totals, advertising rates or licensing fees were disclosed in the available announcements.
Why the deal mattered
For Magnolia Pictures
CineLife gave catalog films another route to viewers and advertisers, while placing independent cinema in a lean-back, scheduled-TV setting. It also extended Magnolia’s reach through TiVo’s device and television-provider ecosystem.
For TiVo and Xperi
The channel added recognizable film-library programming to TiVo+, helping the service broaden its free, ad-supported channel mix. Xperi’s results announcement grouped CineLife with other content integrations, including Discovery+ and PBS, as part of TiVo’s wider aggregation strategy.

For viewers
The arrangement offered a low-friction way to discover independent, international and documentary films without a separate CineLife subscription. The trade-off is scheduled viewing, advertising and an unpredictable rotating catalog.

Buying TiVo hardware solely for one CineLife title is a poor fit if you need guaranteed on-demand access, ad-free playback or live in an area without a supported TiVo product or provider. TiVo has not established a current hardware price in the information cited here, so check its official product pages before making a purchase.
The Bottom Line
CineLife was a January 2022 Magnolia–TiVo launch: a free, ad-supported linear film channel inside TiVo+. It may still appear in selected provider lineups, but viewers should check their own TiVo guide or provider before assuming access—and should search for a specific Magnolia film separately rather than treating the launch list as current.
