M. Night Shyamalan has three daughters: Saleka, Ishana and Shivani. Saleka is a singer-songwriter and actor known for playing Lady Raven in Trap; Ishana is a filmmaker who directed The Watchers; and public reporting on Shivani is more limited, with a July 2024 profile describing her as a fashion-design student at that time.
Who are M. Night Shyamalan’s daughters?
The sisters grew up around their father’s film work, but their documented interests differ. The table below separates established public credits from information that is only available as a dated report.
| Daughter | Creative field | Publicly documented work or information |
|---|---|---|
| Saleka Shyamalan | Music and acting | Played Lady Raven in Trap; wrote and performed music connected to the film’s story; contributed a song heard in Old. |
| Ishana Shyamalan | Filmmaking | Directed feature debut The Watchers; worked on Servant and as second-unit director on Old. |
| Shivani Shyamalan | Public information limited | The Atlantic reported in July 2024 that she was studying fashion design then. That report should not be treated as a current biography. |
Saleka Shyamalan: singer-songwriter and Lady Raven in Trap
Saleka is M. Night Shyamalan’s eldest daughter and works primarily as a musician. She also acted in her father’s 2024 thriller Trap, playing pop star Lady Raven.
How music and the film were connected
The project was developed around a deliberately linked concert and movie experience. In a 2024 interview, M. Night Shyamalan said conversations with Saleka about shaping an album toward a narrative helped inspire the film’s concept. The songs were written for key scenes, so Lady Raven’s performance is part of the story rather than background music added after filming.

A Vogue account of the 2021 premiere of Old reported that Saleka contributed a song sung by a character in the film. That is a specific documented credit, not a complete list of her soundtrack work or a statement about her current release schedule.
Ishana Shyamalan: director of The Watchers
Ishana established her own filmmaking career behind the camera. Her feature debut, The Watchers, is based on A. M. Shine’s novel of the same name.

Her work before the feature debut
Vogue India reported that Ishana gained earlier experience on the Apple TV+ series Servant. Vogue also reported that she served as second-unit director on her father’s film Old. These roles gave her production experience before she led a feature as director.
Her approach to filmmaking
Discussing the industry with the Associated Press in June 2024, Ishana said: “The types of stories that we tell and the ethics of the process I think in some ways need to be redefined or reinvented for this era.” The comment places her debut in a broader conversation about how films are made and whose stories receive attention.

The literary source for The Watchers
Readers interested in the story’s origin can start with A. M. Shine’s novel, the source material identified in coverage of Ishana’s film. The movie is an adaptation, so details and presentation may differ between the book and the screen version.

Reliable public reporting about Shivani is substantially thinner than the coverage of her sisters’ creative work. The Atlantic’s July 30, 2024 family profile identified her as the youngest daughter and reported that she was studying fashion design at that time.

Because that statement is tied to a 2024 article, it should not be rewritten as a claim about her present enrollment, occupation or career plans. There is not enough established public information to responsibly add details about her private life or future work.
How the sisters’ public careers differ
- Saleka: a music-led career that expanded into acting through the purpose-built role of Lady Raven in Trap.
- Ishana: a directing career with production experience on Servant and Old, followed by The Watchers.
- Shivani: a much smaller documented public footprint; the clearest available detail is the time-specific 2024 report about fashion-design studies.
Those differences are why the sisters are best described through their own documented activities rather than ranked by fame, income or career momentum—comparisons for which reliable public evidence is not established here.
