The trailer previewed that conversation; Netflix’s reunion recap reports what they said when the cast gathered.
What the reunion trailer previewed
Netflix’s official trailer, published March 8, 2024, promoted the cast’s return to discuss their relationships, the season’s drama and what happened after the altar. AD and Clay were among the returning participants, with Nick and Vanessa Lachey hosting. The trailer was a preview, not a record of the full exchange at the reunion. Netflix’s official trailer
What Clay said to AD at the reunion
In Netflix Tudum’s reunion recap, Clay apologizes to AD and says: “I apologize. I love you. You are the love of my life, and it was a mistake.” The “mistake” referred to his decision to reject her at the altar.
Clay also says, “I want to be a good guy and the best version I could be, and it sucks that I wasn’t that for you,” and, “It broke my heart to break your heart.” These are statements from the aired reunion as reported by Tudum, rather than dialogue that should be attributed to the trailer.

How AD responded—and what the exchange did not mean
AD’s response was guarded. Tudum reports that she told Clay, “You had your chance,” and later said, “I feel like low-key respectfully, you played in my fucking face.” The recap describes her as hesitant to reopen old wounds or trust him again. Her words do not establish that she forgave him or agreed to resume their relationship.
When the Season 6 reunion premiered
Netflix scheduled the reunion for Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT—one week after the Season 6 finale, Episode 12, released March 6.
