An audience member named Alex joined a conversation about Howie Mandel’s single son during the comedian’s June 17, 2024 appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark. She said she would like to meet him; Mandel replied that his son was “on an app,” and the exchange ended with Kelly Ripa sending the show to a commercial break.
What happened on Live with Kelly and Mark?
During Mandel’s June 17, 2024 appearance, Ripa mentioned that Mandel’s two daughters were married while his son, Alex, was still single. Mandel joked that his son brought models into what he called a “model rescue service”: he would nurse them back to health and release them before a commitment became necessary.
An audience member then said her name was also Alex and that she would love to meet Mandel’s son. Mandel responded, “You want to meet my son?” and said Alex was “on an app.” The dating app was not identified.
How did Mandel and the hosts react?
Mandel said, “I was trying to be funny, but now he’ll get mad at me. You seem like a lovely young lady,” according to the Entertainment Weekly account republished by Yahoo. Ripa and Mark Consuelos laughed, and Ripa sent the program to a commercial break to regroup.
