ABC News reported that the preliminary account counted 25 injuries and said the head injuries were sufficient to cause death. The original complete autopsy report is not reproduced in the cited coverage, so these are reported findings rather than an independent review of the full document.
What does “multiple traumas” mean?
In this report, “multiple traumatic injuries” refers to injuries attributed to the fall, alongside internal and external bleeding. It describes the reported physical cause of death; it does not, by itself, explain every circumstance that preceded the fall or establish intent.

What examinations were requested?
The prosecutor’s office requested histopathological, biochemical and toxicological examinations, according to the contemporaneous ABC News report. Those were additional examinations, distinct from the initial account of the fatal injuries.
What did later toxicology reporting say?
A BBC report published 7 November 2024 said toxicology tests found traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant. This is a later reported toxicology finding, not part of the wording of the initial autopsy account. The cited report does not establish that toxicology alone explains the fall.

What is the status of the UK coroner’s process?
In an update published 7 May 2026, the BBC reported that Senior Coroner Crispin Butler was awaiting further material from Argentina and that no new disclosure had been made since the previous review. A further pre-inquest review was scheduled for 1 December 2026; that date was still in the future as of 8 October 2026. The update describes a continuing process, separate from the preliminary autopsy findings.

Reuters, in an October 2024 explainer republished by Investing.com, quoted the prosecutor’s report: “He may have fallen while in a state of semi-consciousness or total unconsciousness.” The wording is qualified: “may have” does not present that possibility as a definitive conclusion.
