Lady Gaga’s debut album The Fame reportedly crossed 500 weeks on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart in October 2023. Lady Gaga Now reported that threshold on October 16, 2023, when the album ranked No. 2 for the chart week. That total is different from the 175 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 attributed to the album in 2023 announcements, and it should not be read as a current Billboard tally.
What Billboard milestone did The Fame reach?
Lady Gaga Now reported on October 16, 2023, that The Fame had reached its 500th week on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The report said the album stood at No. 2 that week. Because the retrieved report is from Lady Gaga Now, a fan news site, rather than Billboard, the 500-week figure is best described as a reported historical milestone—not as a Billboard-confirmed current total. Lady Gaga Now’s October 16, 2023 report.
How is 500 chart weeks different from 175 weeks at No. 1?
“Weeks on the chart” counts every week an album appears on it. “Weeks at No. 1” counts only the weeks it occupies the top position. Universal Music Canada’s August 18, 2023 anniversary announcement credited The Fame with 175 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic chart; Lady Gaga Now reported the same figure in October 2023. These are separate measures, and neither makes 175 the album’s total number of chart weeks. Universal Music Canada’s anniversary announcement.
What do the Billboard 200 figures refer to?
Universal Music Canada’s 2023 announcement also cited 319 weeks on the Billboard 200 and a No. 12 position on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums of All Time” chart. Those are separate claims about different chart measures; they are not part of the Dance/Electronic Albums chart’s reported 500-week milestone. The figures are attributed to the company’s dated announcement, not presented here as current standings.
