AniLiberty is the source of the catalog, descriptions, and subtitles surfaced in Kitsune. AniLiberty describes its work as translating and voicing anime in Russian on its official website.

Does Kitsune support English?
The project README lists Russian and English as interface languages. That is separate from the language of AniLiberty’s content: Flathub says the catalog information and subtitles come from AniLiberty in Russian. An English app interface therefore does not mean the anime or subtitles are in English.

How do you install Kitsune on Linux?
The simplest documented route is the Flathub listing. It lists builds for x86_64 and aarch64 systems. Confirm that your Linux distribution supports Flatpak and check the listing for the current release and installation steps.
The project README also lists installation through ALT Linux repositories or building from source. Its stated source-build requirements include Python 3.12 or later, GTK 4, Libadwaita 1.6 or later, GStreamer 1.24 or later with GTK4 paintable sink and HLS demux plugins, Libsoup 3, Meson 1.0 or later, Blueprint Compiler, and Python keyring support. It additionally names GStreamer GTK4 and WebP pixbuf plugins for playback. Package names and availability vary by distribution, so use the project’s current instructions rather than treating that list as a universal install command.

Is Kitsune the same as AniLiberty’s own site or apps?
No. Kitsune is a separate interface for reaching AniLiberty’s anime catalog. AniLiberty also presents releases, schedules, applications, and support options on its official site. Choose Kitsune if you want its Libadwaita client experience and supported account-library features; use AniLiberty’s own services if you prefer the team’s web or app experience.
